Hi, I'm Katie, a documentary-style family and portrait photographer based in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, and Wellfleet on Cape Cod. I've spent 13 years building a full-time photography business around one idea. The best photos happen when people stop performing and start being themselves.

I work primarily with families. Annual portraits in Rhode Island, vacation sessions on the Outer Cape, extended-family gatherings with grandparents and cousins and someone's toddler who absolutely will not sit still. These are the sessions I love most, and the ones I've gotten really, really good at.

My approach is simple. I don't line everyone up and tell them to smile. Instead, I use prompts, play, and the kind of gentle chaos that gets kids laughing and parents forgetting there's a camera pointed at them. I'm looking for the in-between moments, the ones that actually look like your family. The messy, joyful, real ones.

I also still photograph weddings selectively, and the same philosophy applies. I don't stage or interrupt. I document the day as it unfolds, with a focus on genuine connection over stiff poses.
