I went into wedding planning with very specific ideas of what I wanted, but with a strict budget and limited timeline. She was able to see the core value of what I wanted out of my most extravagant ideas and scale them back to solutions that I could not only afford, but were better than I even imagined.

We chose particularly challenging ceremony and reception venues, but Barbara was able to recognize every potential issue and address it to the best degree possible. She communicated each solution to us, and to our vendors, clearly, respectfully and without a doubt that she would be able to execute it.

Barbara and her team did an absolutely amazing job on our wedding! It was literally a dream come true. Every step of the way Barbara was able to guide us and offer amazing suggestions. She has a lot of experience and it shows. She was incredibly flexible as my husband and I both work full time, she would meet with us when it fit with our schedules. Hands down, we are most thankful for her suggestion that we have a tent on reserve as we had our ceremony taking place outside. As we approached the wedding day, the weather continued to look like rain was a possibility. We made the call mid-week to use the tent and Barbara had everything lined up to make sure that it was the most stunning tent you have ever seen (and it was!!) The actual day it did end up raining buckets but come ceremony and reception time, the storm had passed! The entire day was so perfect, we had the BEST time and wish we could do it over and over again - this is all thanks to Barbara and the BLC team!

Long story short: we could not have done our wedding without BLC Events. They were prompt, professional and detailed, so detailed in fact that they thought of other necessary touches that we were completely oblivious to. By partnering with Barbara and her staff, we literally did not have to worry about anything other than enjoying our day. Most impressive was not just how she treated us and the event, but how her quality of service extended to all guests, especially family members. We received so many accolades on the whole wedding with people specifically noting the high quality of coordination. My husband and I were married at a beautiful winery out of state. We were ecstatic that Barbara sourced the best out of state vendors, making our wedding stunning. The weather was perfect the day of our wedding, not a cloud in the sky…until about 1 hour prior to the ceremony when a storm started to roll in. She calmly suggested we move the ceremony inside and seamlessly took care of every detail. I knew I was in good hands and felt pressure free and well taken care of. It rained sideways during our ceremony. As they say, a wet knot is harder to untie.

The following weekend, we had a big bash at our local country club. The transformation the club underwent for our party was magical. Some members joked they didn’t recognize their own club. A year later, my husband and I still receive compliments about our wedding reception as the best party ever. I always reply it was all Barbara Cohen. The lighting, flowers, creative food, fabulous baker, stunning décor, band, DJ and photos that Barbara put together has given us such great memories of our special event. In fact, my husband was so impressed with our wedding album we ordered a second one for our vacation home.

My advice: book Barbara at BLC Events. I interviewed others and thought she would be the best - and it turned out she was great! I was planning my daughter's wedding in Portland from the east coast and Barbara was able to set me up with local vendors (band, florist, photographer, chair rental, makeup, etc.) who were terrific and gave great value for their goods and services. The wedding was beautiful and lots of fun. Couldn't have done it without Barbara. If I had another daughter to plan a wedding for, I'd call Barbara first.
