Bissell Brothers is a craft brewery and wedding venue in Portland, Maine. Brothers Noah and Peter Bissell conceived the idea for the brewery in 2011 in the rural central Maine town where they grew up. Combining Noah’s passion for craft brewing with Peter’s industry savvy, the brothers hit the ground running, opening their first taproom in 2014. Facilities and Capacity

The venue is situated in a 100-year-old former railcar repair building on Thompson’s Point Peninsula, overlooking the Fore River. The space has been transformed from a run-of-the-mill industrial building into a modern loft-style destination. Houseplants and wall art complement exposed beams, ducts, and red-brick walls, with high ceilings that add to the brewery’s open feel. Bissell Brothers can accommodate both intimate and larger wedding receptions, welcome parties, and cocktail hour-type gatherings.

Bissell Brothers offers the full range of its acclaimed beverages for craft beer-loving guests. In addition to cocktails and wine, wedding-goers can sip stouts, lagers, IPA's, and sours at the full-service bar while listening to the couples’ choice of wedding entertainment. The kitchen team is happy to work with newlyweds to cook up a menu featuring charcuterie, a raw bar, deliscious entrees, and plenty of plant-based options, all made in-house. Bissell Brothers is pleased to supply and set up audio/visual equipment. The event coordination team works closely with each couple to meet any additional needs wherever possible.
