We were referred to Barbara and Belles Lettres by a friend who had worked with her and had a fantastic experience. Hers was no anomaly - Barbara is incredibly organized, extremely efficient, and of course, her work is really beautiful. Working with Barbara was great. I was a little overwhelmed by invitation shops, but mostly knew what I wanted: classic but personalized.

I first asked about envelope addressing, but wound up having her create a custom suite for me including a logo that we used in many other ways that made the whole event seem pulled together.

Barbara helped me through so much more of the process than she needed to, guiding me towards the wonderful Bernardsville Print Center for the actual printing of her custom design.

She was quick and thorough with all communication, and was able to adeptly and swiftly handle last minute additions and changes as I changed my mind a few times. She helped when I didn't know what words to use to describe what it was that I wanted.

By the end of the process the invitation went from something that was on the back burner, to one of my favorite elements. I loved hearing feedback from guests that it was, without hyperbole, the nicest invitation they had ever seen, and set the stage for how the rest of the wedding would be.

I can't say enough good things about working with Belles Lettres. We went with Barbara's mixed lettering look, and the invitations turned out looking absolutely beautiful. Barbara is also very transparent, easygoing, and helpful. She carefully spelled out all of her services and what the costs would be, and offered suggestions and samples to guide us to the right style. I highly recommend!

I'm not one to write reviews, but felt like this was an exception. I had Barbara do the addresses on my wedding invitations, and they blew me away. She did gold script on our black envelopes and when I received them in the mail I was so impressed. They took the quality and customization of our wedding invitations to the next level. Working with Barbara was a breeze. Wedding planning is difficult and I wasn't the best at emailing promptly, but Barbara was always on top of it. We had issues getting our envelopes in time, so we were worried everything would be sent out extremely late. Barbara was a champ and turned around our beautiful addressed envelopes in record time. I initially thought the price was a bit high (I had also never hired a calligrapher), but after seeing the quality and ease of working with her it was worth every penny. I would highly recommend choosing her for your next calligraphy needs. She will not disappoint! (I blurred out part of the address and names in my photo for privacy reasons, but you can still clearly see how lovely Barbara's work is)

Barbara is the ultimate combination of talent, professionalism, dedication, and care. She worked with us on a very short time line, and spent the bulk of her Thanksgiving holiday weekend making certain that she was creating a unique and beautiful wedding invitation suite that was entirely in line with our vision. Barbara is such a wonderful artist and a lovely woman to work with. I was so fortunate to be introduced to her through other vendors I used for my wedding day!
