Ann and her team were amazing! We used them for my wedding for bride + bridesmaid hair and makeup. Ann was so wonderful about communicating and responding quickly, professionally, and with very helpful detailed answers to my questions. She was also great about explaining our timeline and helping me think through which timeline would be best for the day - honestly it felt like she was somewhat of a wedding planner in this sense, which was super helpful for us! It is clear that she cares a lot about her brides and does an excellent job taking care of her clients - she even came to my trial hair and makeup session at my apartment to introduce herself and check in with me! Ann also checked in with me the day after the trial to see how my hair and makeup lasted throughout the night and asked if I wanted to make any changes (but everything was perfect!). I would love to work with her again. For the hair and makeup artists, we worked with Nikki for hair and Viki for makeup. We loved them both! I showed them a few inspiration photos and my final hair and makeup looked exactly like what I wanted! Even in the trial run, they completely nailed it. I haven't ever gotten professional makeup done before this and I don't wear a lot of makeup so I was worried about looking overdone, but the makeup that Viki did looked very natural - I was so impressed. For my hair - I wore a traditional Middle Eastern hat and veil that I had no idea how to attach to my head. Nikki was amazing at quickly figuring out how to pin the hat to my head in a way where it stayed secure all day and she also figured out how to beautifully drape the veil over the hat and pin it in place - I absolutely loved how it looked and was so impressed with her ability to figure this out to quickly. Nikki and Viki were also both very fun to chat with even stayed overtime to do touchups for me - they were so sweet. My bridesmaids all loved how they looked as well! Also these services were very reasonably priced and the quality of service was excellent. I highly recommend Ann Krause and working with Nikki and Viki!

Choosing a hair and makeup team for your wedding can feel overwhelming. There are so many talented artists out there, and it can be hard to know who will make you look like the best version of you. After working with Beauty by Ann Krause, I can confidently say I found my dream team.

From our very first interaction, I felt completely at ease. Ann is incredibly professional, and her online portal made scheduling, communication, contracts, and timelines so organized and stress-free. Every step of the process gave me confidence that I was in excellent hands.

Ann did my hair, and from the trial onward, I knew I was working with a true artist. She carefully documented everything with photos, and on the wedding day we talked through a few tweaks based on my trial. I mentioned that I wanted the style to feel a little softer and less structured. She immediately understood exactly what I meant and went to work.
I'll admit, there was a moment halfway through styling where I caught a glimpse of myself and thought, "Trust the process!" I looked a little like Dianne Wiest's character in Edward Scissorhands. But that's the thing about true professionals—they see the finished masterpiece long before you do. By the end, my hair was absolutely perfect. The moral of the story: trust Ann's vision, and trust the process.

Christy Wielosinski handled my makeup, and she was every bit as incredible. As someone who genuinely loves makeup, I couldn't help but admire—and occasionally peek into—her kit. Her approach wasn't about transforming me into someone else; it was about enhancing what was already there. She created the most beautiful, glowing look that photographed wonderfully while still feeling completely like me.

One of the best decisions I made was keeping both Ann and Christy through the reception for touch-ups. They made sure I looked fresh from the first photo of the day through a grueling afternoon of photos and lots of happy tears. Knowing they were there allowed me to relax and simply enjoy every moment.

What I appreciate most about Beauty by Ann Krause is the philosophy behind the artistry. Ann believes your wedding hair and makeup should make you feel like the most beautiful version of yourself—not like someone you barely recognize in your photos. That balance is incredibly difficult to achieve, and Ann and Christy mastered it effortlessly.

My everyday hair and makeup is extremely minimal, so I was a bit nervous about how to properly communicate what I wanted in my wedding look because I wasn't sure I had the right vocabulary. Paige and Giselle did an excellent job on hair and makeup for me and my bridal party. Everyone looked beautiful. They were very flexible. They were willing to do as many touch ups as needed during their contracted hours. Ann was very easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this team.

Anne is perfect. I think I said as much on the day of the trial, the days leading up to the actual wedding, and several times on the actual wedding day. My biggest concern with my hair for my wedding day was the fact that it is naturally curly with a mind of its own. It was really important to me that I look like ME on my wedding day, so I wanted to find someone who could help me harness the crazy to do a curly style for the day. I wasn't interested in doing a straight style or a blow out but was really hoping to find a stylist who would embrace the natural curl, and help me come up with a style that would stay put all day but still let that element shine. Anne is 100% that person. We did a trial a month or so before the wedding, and actually landed on two different styles I couldn't decide between. One was a half up half down style with some small natural ringlet curls in front, and the other was the same but with the back in a low, loose bun with some stray tendrils. Anne came up with an incredible idea to incorporate BOTH by starting off with the half up look for the photos pre-ceremony (so first look and then the outdoor photos with the bridal party) and the move to the low bun before the walk down the aisle. This also led to us deciding to keep Anne and one of the makeup artists on for touchups up until the ceremony and I could NOT recommend anything more! It worked out absolutely perfectly, and I am so glad we had the touch up help as we battled the Chicago Autumn wind and my curly hair. The first style was so much fun and such a great vibe for the photos with our friends, and the second look with the low bun just added that extra bit of elegance for the ceremony and dinner. Anne truly made such a world of difference for our day, absolutely 10/10 would recommend!

We had a great time getting to know Paige and Vicki as well - they were so fun! They listened to everything we wanted and took the time to get our feedback after the trial. On the big day, they were punctual, friendly, and helpful. All my bridesmaids were so happy with their hair and makeup. The whole day was flawless.
