Having a boudoir photo session with Richard was such a delight and brought the excitement back into planning for me after a year of pandemic wedding planning had worn me down. Richard was a great communicator and very organize and reliable. We shot the images in Richard's downtown Raleigh studio which was so professional, convenient, and provided gorgeous natural light for the images. I was slightly nervous going into the process, not knowing what to expect, but I had so much fun and Richard was so encouraging, sweet, and super professional, making the shoot loads of fun and put me at ease to pose naturally to get some great photos. I absolutely love how the images turned out and can't wait to gift them to my fiance during our honeymoon. I can't recommend Richard enough for unique and high-quality boudoir photography.

If you’re thinking about doing a boudoir shoot….ABSOLUTELY do it with Richard! The experience was AMAZING and totally worth the investment! I had been wanting to do this type of shoot for a while but never made a commitment until my friend asked if I wanted to join her in the experience. It was the perfect opportunity and so fun to cheer each other on!! I was nervous the day of, but the jitters and feelings of awkwardness quickly left as Richard made me feel so comfortable and natural from the very beginning. He provided subtle but extremely helpful direction for posing, which I was most anxious about. Richard came with champagne, music, and extra outfit choices which made the experience that much better. From start to finish, he was supportive, communicative, flexible, and professional. A couple weeks later, we were sent all our edited pictures and WOW, each one blew me away. I couldn’t believe how amazing they all turned out—it was SO hard to narrow them down for an album I made. Richard is so TALENTED and I can’t say enough great things about him. I would choose Barlow Boudoir 100x over and over again.

I wanted to do a boudoir shoot before my wedding, but I was incredibly nervous. I had trouble finding a photographer that 1) seemed body positive for someone who doesn't already look like a model and 2) wouldn't nickel and dime for every single picture. Honestly, some of the prices were insane. Following what is a vulnerable and intimate shoot, I would want to have access to ALL the photos afterward - and not have to pay per photo.

I found Richard Barlow and reached out - his communication was great. He sent great instructions and I showed up the day of very nervous but excited. I highly recommend bringing a few friends along - I regret not doing that. It would make for a great girls' weekend activity.

However, he made me so comfortable. The shoot came with hair and makeup and the stylist was amazing. Richard went out of his way to make sure I was relaxed, comfortable, and in control of the situation. He talked about his wife, kids, wedding shoots, and other boudoir shoots, telling funny stories to break the ice. Once we started, he took his time to get the perfect shot. I was unsure of what I wanted so I had brought a ton of outfits - he let me take pictures with all of them and I never felt rushed. Richard gave great instructions and I was so happy with the results.
