As a wedding present for my husband, I booked a boudoir photoshoot w/ Richard and was so impressed with his work! Before the shoot, Richard took the time to answer any and all of my questions. The day of the shoot, he made sure I felt comfortable and beautiful! He delivered the photos quickly after our shoot and quickly got my book printed and delivered all within a few weeks. I HIGHLY recommend Richard Barlow Photography! -

Richard came recommended to me by a friend. I am typically shy in front of the camera, but Richard and his team did a great job of making me feel comfortable and confident. The hair and makeup artist did a wonderful job. There were snacks, drinks, and I even got to pick the music. The photos turned out beautifully and I could not be happier. Would 100% recommend to anyone. -

Having a boudoir photo session with Richard was such a delight and brought the excitement back into planning for me after a year of pandemic wedding planning had worn me down. Richard was a great communicator and very organize and reliable. We shot the images in Richard's downtown Raleigh studio which was so professional, convenient, and provided gorgeous natural light for the images. I was slightly nervous going into the process, not knowing what to expect, but I had so much fun and Richard was so encouraging, sweet, and super professional, making the shoot loads of fun and put me at ease to pose naturally to get some great photos. I absolutely love how the images turned out and can't wait to gift them to my fiance during our honeymoon. I can't recommend Richard enough for unique and high-quality boudoir photography. -

Richard made me feel like an absolute queen during the shoot. He was incredibly responsive, professional, and fun to work with. He made me feel comfortable in my own skin and brought out the confidence in me while we were shooting, all while maintaining a professional environment. His photos were so unique and I am in love with how they turned out. He is incredibly talented and his work is extremely high quality. I chose the Silver package with him and it was well worth it. -

Richard is the best of the best, especially when it comes to boudoir. He's incredibly professional and very responsive. Most importantly, you'll be blown away by the photos. I hired Richard for a bridal boudoir with a hair & makeup package and it was one of the most incredible experiences. I had worked with Richard before for our engagement photos so I was already comfortable with him, but he made it even better with snacks, champagne, music, and a robe to change into once I arrived at his studio. The Wink makeup artist was so great and I would definitely recommend their service for engagement/bridal portraits/wedding day makeup. Although I had a couple of shots I wanted to take, I’m so glad that I let Richard toss out all the ideas because those were my husband’s favorites. You couldn’t ask for a better indoor setting with the most beautiful window, bed, and settee. I left feeling on top of the world and would definitely do another boudoir in the future since working with Richard was so easy and the photos looked amazing. Richard was quick to respond to emails, deliver photos back on time, and the gallery he uses is so easy to download, share, and purchase photos from. Most photographers I’ve worked with have been an hour of “turn your head left,” “move your arm right,” but it was never this way with Richard. I always felt so natural and comfortable taking pictures with him. It never felt like an endless stream of instructions, so it was a breath of fresh air working with him! The best part was receiving a leather bound book of 40 photos to give to my husband and it’s probably one of his most prized possessions now haha. The reaction you’ll get from presenting it to someone will make the whole thing worth it. :) You will definitely not regret hiring Richard to shoot your bridal or boudoir photos! -

I wanted to do a boudoir shoot before my wedding, but I was incredibly nervous. I had trouble finding a photographer that 1) seemed body positive for someone who doesn't already look like a model and 2) wouldn't nickel and dime for every single picture. Honestly, some of the prices were insane. Following what is a vulnerable and intimate shoot, I would want to have access to ALL the photos afterward - and not have to pay per photo.
I found Richard Barlow and reached out - his communication was great. He sent great instructions and I showed up the day of very nervous but excited. I highly recommend bringing a few friends along - I regret not doing that. It would make for a great girls' weekend activity.
However, he made me so comfortable. The shoot came with hair and makeup and the stylist was amazing. Richard went out of his way to make sure I was relaxed, comfortable, and in control of the situation. He talked about his wife, kids, wedding shoots, and other boudoir shoots, telling funny stories to break the ice. Once we started, he took his time to get the perfect shot. I was unsure of what I wanted so I had brought a ton of outfits - he let me take pictures with all of them and I never felt rushed. Richard gave great instructions and I was so happy with the results.
