The wedding cake was delicious and Melinda was very helpful and listened to what I wanted. I was thrilled to know that I would get to eat my own GF wedding cake and that the best man wouldn't go to the hospital because of his severe nut allergy. I had lemon cupcakes with raspberry filling and lemon buttercream frosting-- they were to DIE for!

I am so incredibly happy that we found Melinda Buchanan, owner, baker and designer for Bake Love Bakery to make our wedding cake and other treats. Our cake was not only gluten free, it was the most heavenly flavor combination imaginable -- Dulce de leche and espresso icing in between delicate layers of vanilla bean cake, topped with brown sugar icing. We had guests write us notes at the reception, and more than one thanked us for the amazing cake, lemon bars, and s'mores bites that Bake Love Bakery created! Melinda is an absolutely lovely person and a true professional. She made a gorgeous cake that made all of our guests very happy, thank you!

Melinda was a joy to work with and our cake was very tasty and absolutely beautiful. She was able to move the set up time and did a wonderful job setting up even in the surprise rain shower. She delivered exactly what we asked for and our guests loved the cake!!

Melinda from Bake Love Bakery made a beautiful and delicious 3-tiered cake for our wedding. We had vanilla and raspberry with buttercream and an unusual and very good spice cake with blackberry filling and brown sugar cream cheese icing. I don't like extremely sweet wedding cakes that people leave on their plates, and this was plenty sweet but not too much so, and very all-natural-tasting. Before our tasting, I was a little hesitant about what a gluten-free cake might taste like, but I was so glad I gave it a chance!

Working with her was fun and not at all stressful. We had cupcakes from her for my bridal shower, and they were really cute and delicious. Then we had a very elegant tasting (which is a nice wedding memory too). She listened patiently to all my ideas about cake design, we Googled around for ideas together, and she found a way to weave together the two cultural influences on our wedding AND the features of my wedding dress into a design that I loved. It took a long time, and I had to get back to her about a few things, but she was flexible and never pressured me to hurry the process along. In contrast, I had already done a tasting and a consultation with another local bakery, and while it tasted good and one of their standard cakes was beautiful, I didn't feel like they were very interested in customizing the cake to my interests. Also, Melinda's was tastier and she was willing to deliver the cake herself to my mountain venue for a very reasonable fee! I wholeheartedly recommend Bake Love Bakery for event and wedding dessert, especially if you're interested in getting creative with design, and even if you're not interested in gluten-free baking!

This is not a comment for a wedding cake but rather a birthday cake. Melinda also provides THE MOST DELICIOUS Birthday cakes! So, don't just consider her for weddings but all occasions, as she can make most anything!

Melinda was wonderful in every way in helping us with a gluten-free wedding cake. Because I have celiac's disease and I love dessert, I was determined to find a delicious gluten-free cake, which is exactly what Melinda provided. We were able to try many different cakes and icings that were all quite good. Melinda also worked with us on the cake decorations. We finally settled on chocolate cake with brown sugar cream cheese icing that everyone at the wedding loved, including us. Many people shared that they loved it and couldn't tell that it was gluten-free.
