Welcome to Preservation Virginia's Bacon's Castle located in Surry County, Virginia convenient to Greater Richmond, Williamsburg, and Hampton Roads, Virginia. Built in 1665, Bacon's Castle remains North America's only surviving example of Jacobean Architecture and has the oldest English Formal Gardens (1670s) in North America. The 40-acre historic site is complete with several 18th, 19th, and 20th-century barns and outbuildings suitable for wedding photos and event backdrops.
