The Historic Martin Mansion

The Historic Martin Mansion is an elegant wedding venue located in Norfolk, Virginia. This establishment was built circa 1909 and has been home to the Woman's Club of Norfolk since 1925. The mansion is surrounded by the beautiful and prestigious neighborhood of the Historic Hague District in Ghent. The Elizabeth River is just around the corner from the property, as is the Norfolk Chrysler Museum. The Historic Martin Mansion has been host to dignitaries, presidents, and celebrities throughout the years. Here, there is plenty of space available for a graceful and opulent event that takes advantage of the innate atmosphere that has influenced parties since the Roaring Twenties.

Facilities and Capacity

This venue is able to suit a capacity of up to 100 seated Dinner guests or 125 for a cocktail/food station reception. The exterior of the building is adorned with many windows that allow natural light to spill into the interior. Delightful architectural touches are peppered on the facade. There is also a wraparound porch that provides a fantastic area to gather and enjoy fun banter with guests. The interior has sconce lighting and gorgeous wood floors that influence a warm feeling throughout the space. Molding is apparent throughout the main event area, creating a design that may be admired by both you and your guests. Plenty of ornate elements is scattered throughout the building, including a winding wooden staircase that is able to contribute to a grand entrance during an event. A parlor room has period-appropriate furniture pieces as well as stained glass which helps to instill a sense of history in the cozy space. The parlors feel intimate and grande at the same time. There is plenty of room for tables and chairs, all of which may be decorated as per the couple's tastes.
