About
Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage, home of the People’s President, is a national historic landmark and event venue located 10 miles east of downtown Nashville. The 1120-acre Hermitage property features four beautiful and unique event spaces--Hermitage English Garden, Historic Hermitage Church, Cabin by the Spring, and Tulip Grove Mansion.
Facilities and Capacity
Couples can exchange vows in an indoor or outdoor ceremony and accommodate up to 500 guests at our rustic estate. Venues include:
- Cabin by the Spring - Features three spacious rooms, each with a limestone fireplace and doorway that leads to a covered brick terrace. The terrace overlooks a lovely wooded glen near the Jackson family's original stone spring house. Hold your ceremony under the sweeping branches of the "wedding tree", a towering beech tree just steps from the venue. The venue features a catering kitchen, private restrooms, and is heated and air-conditioned.
- Tulip Grove Mansion - Noted as one of Tennessee's most elegant Greek Revival mansions, Tulip Grove affords the perfect setting for your ceremony and reception. Constructed in 1836 as the home of Andrew Jackson Donelson and his wife, Emily. Tulip Grove features stunning architecture, lush grounds, and a beautiful boxwood walk. The spacious front and side lawns offer plenty of room for both ceremonies and receptions. Tulip Grove is an outdoor venue only.
- The English Garden - A lovely traditional four-square English garden consisting of four quadrants and circular center beds. The garden features perennial flowers, herbs, blooming vines, shrubs, and fruit trees. Our historic gardening staff work year-round to make sure there are abundant flowers and foliage from Spring through Fall. The two front garden quadrants are perfect for wedding ceremonies or receptions. Once the sun sets, the nearby Hermitage mansion is lit against the night sky.
- The Hermitage Church - Built in 1823 by Andrew Jackson as a gift to his wife and the surrounding community. This quaint brick structure offers lovely pew seating and a simple, intimate setting to exchange vows. It accommodates 140 seated guests. The building is heated, but not air-conditioned and is recommended for Spring, Winter, and Fall weddings.
Services Offered

Andrew Jackson's Hermitage is Southern Elegance at it's best! The staff at The Hermitage tends to every aspect of the bride and groom's needs and wishes with the kindness, hospitality and charm that you would expect from such a grand Historic Home. The Hermitage just begs for weddings to be held there....such love, beauty of the grounds, and happiness flows from every part of the property. From a fellow vendor standpoint, I would rate The Hermitage with a 5* in every area!
