Amie is amazing, a truly gifted photographer with an outstanding eye and attention to detail. Amie came to us recommended by a friend and we are forever grateful! From the minute we met with her through our wedding, she made the planning process painless and the day of flawless. She's a top notch professional who is capable of creating a tranquil environment to help even the most nervous of people relax and photograph perfectly. Her photojournalist style was exactly what we were looking for, we wanted to capture the moment rather than stage it. We interviewed a number of photographers before choosing Amie. When we met her, she was so down-to-earth and made us feel completely comfortable. We loved chatting with her and just felt like our personalities clicked. This is so important to have in a photographer, since he or she is there with you the entire day. Beyond Amie’s personality, though, we just fell in love with her photos. It was really important to us that our photos capture the emotions of the day. While some portraits are necessary, we wanted most of our pictures to feel spontaneous and intimate. We were confident after looking at Amie’s portfolio that she’d do a great job.

On our wedding day, Amie and her second photographer, Amanda, were super flexible (it started raining just 30 minutes before our ceremony was supposed to begin) and professional. The two of them made us feel at ease even with all the chaos of having to move the ceremony’s location last minute. About a month after the wedding, Amie posted a preview of our photos online, and we were thrilled with how beautiful they turned out! We received so many compliments from our friends and family. We’re currently waiting to receive the rest of our photos, but are super excited and can’t wait to see them!

Amie was our photographer for our wedding 3 weeks ago. She was recommended to us by a friend. I could not have asked for a better photographer. Amie and Ashley (second photographer) are very comfortable to be around. Amie was amazing from the moment we met with her the first time before we had a photographer, through the planning process, to the day of. She was helpful and informative. Her attention to detail and her style of photography is unmatched in our opinion. We even plan on using her in the future for maternity and family photos. Like a creative supernova she used her experience to rain down her professional and creative amazingness on our wedding. We had a limited budget and she stat down with us to advise the best way to get the most out of her time. When my husband and I decided we were getting married I knew we wanted a small wedding and I knew the photography would be one of the most important parts of the day. I started looking at photographers online and found Amie Otto. I looked at so many photographer’s galleries but kept coming back to her. Something about the way she captured moments was so unique and beautiful. I knew I found our photographer even before talking to her. Meeting her was just a confirmation. We actually scheduled our wedding date around Amie’s schedule. On the day of the wedding Amie was amazing! I didn’t feel the need at all to tell her what photos I wanted. I felt completely at ease and left everything up to her. I couldn’t wait to see the story she would tell with her photography. And, they went so far above what I envisioned. Amie even stayed and took photos for 2 hours after she could’ve put her cameras away and enjoyed her meal. Her technical skills are obvious in her work. But when her heart takes over…the results are extraordinary!

We have been so pleased to with our experience of working with Amie. We hired her to take engagement pictures as well as photographing our wedding. The engagement session went above and beyond our expectations, and we got the photos back quickly. We have had another engaged couple we know say that our engagement pictures inspired them to have an engagement session, and we’ve had a few married couples say that now they regret not doing it because of how ours turned out. Her photographs are truly a work of art! She had excellent recommendations about the room layout to maximize usage of the photo booth that she brought. And speaking of the photo booth, what a hit that was! We had some of our own props and she also brought some, and people were in it the whole night. We had one guest who had to call her sister (whose wedding was the next weekend) and tell her that she must have a photo booth because it was so much fun. Amie put us totally at ease throughout the entire process. We haven’t seen our wedding pictures yet, but she posted the photo booth pictures right away so all the guests could see them as soon as possible, and we can’t wait to see the rest! It’s so great to know that her work has inspired so many of our friends with their own weddings!

Incredible Photographer!

While reading reviews on djs, I stumbled across a review on Amie Otto. The minute I met Amie and saw her photos I knew this was the photographer we wanted for my daughter's wedding. She is extremely professional yet very approachable. Amie has a gift in being able to sense her client's style by asking the right questions.

The minute Amie arrived at the venue and began checking out the lighting and setting we knew the photos would be great. Both before and during the ceremony Amie was inconspicuous but you sensed the shots would be great. We weren't disappointed! Amie took command of the formal photo sessions making sure she would capture the best light and keeping everyone focused so we could finish and go have fun at the reception. Her presence wasn't invasive during the reception. She took numerous photos, but you didn't get the sense that the paparazzi was following you. The guests really enjoyed the photo booth and props Amie set up for our use and we have some really fun photos from it.

We received our photos earlier than the sixty days that Amie had in her contract. She even gave us a sneak preview in her blog so we could see some of the pictures. To sum up the quality of our photos I will quote a friend. "You know how when people look at wedding pictures they always say the pictures are beautiful? Well yours TRULY are beautiful and I am not just saying that! What is your photographer's name again? Do you have an extra card?"

I made a mistake when ordering a family picture a size that wasn't suggested and didn't check the cropping. Unfortunately a couple people were cut out of the picture. When I emailed Amie and told her what happened she not only replaced my picture, she had it framed for me too! This was so unexpected and greatly appreciated. Knowing Amie's character and her desire for her brides and their families to be pleased it was actually not surprising at all. You can't go wrong selection Amie as your wedding photographer. By the time your wedding is over you will refer to Amie as your friend, not your photographer.

I had the privilege of using Amie to take pictures of the children in my preschool also. The pictures don't look like your stereotypical school pictures. She captured the unique spirit of each child in her photos. One child was new to the school and extremely shy. Amie's photo of this child caught the child smiling and light hearted. In other words, I highly recommend using Amie for family portraits too!
