Wow, I don't even know where to start. My son got Married this summer up in Black Hawk. Being the Mother of the Groom, it is a tradition for the Mother of the Groom to host a Rehearsal dinner. I toured several venues up in Black Hawk but the Ameristar blew the roof off of what they had to offer us. Steven, was the guy who was so helpful. He made sure we got all the information we needed and kept us very informed and was so engaging. The process was so painless. The room we rented was so perfect. It had an outside patio with the view of a beautiful mountains. The food was so delicious and the staff were so attentive. The evening went smooth and I felt so proud to host such an exciting event. My son and his Bride had a Suite that night and the staff decorated their room to make it so special!! I cant recommend this enough if you are putting on a small reception or special night. Steven made us feel welcomed and kept us informed all the way through. Ameristar for the Win!!!!!

We were married on October 4th, 2025, at Ameristar Casino in Black Hawk Colorado. We had a gorgeous outdoor ceremony overlooking the mountain Fall colors followed by an indoor plated dinner reception and dance party. Our wedding planner Steven Likens was amazing! He was professional, prompt in responses, had great suggestions with floor design and was on-site to do a final walk through on our actual wedding day. We would highly recommend this venue and working with Steven at Ameristar. He made sure everything looked beautiful on our wedding day. Thank you, Steven and Ameristar! We will be back for our anniversary next year.

So we went through a lot with COVID, long story short we had to plan our wedding several times. We also had to trim our guest list a bit because of COVID, I have no worries that they can accommodate bigger parties. We thought we had a place planned out and ready to go, but at the last minute (3 weeks before our wedding) they canceled on us. My photographer suggested this place. This place was a hidden gem for us! We needed up on the lawn on the 5th floor. Working with everyone was the best experience and they wanted to make sure that we had a great experience. We worked closely with Samantha and Paul. They actually cared and made me feel important! I would 100% do my wedding here again. The food was amazing. Like I tried food for the place that canceled on us and it wasn’t that good; and I’m not stretching when I say the food is amazing. Along with that, the service was astounding. They always made sure that everyone, not just the bride and groom, were happy. We had the best day!

Ameristar ended up being the most magnificent reception venue! We had our reception in the Summit Ballroom. The staff went above and beyond my expectations and made us feel like royalty. After the reception we all headed to the casino floor and the party lasted all night! When you play games on the casino floor you drink for free - so you know what I mean!
I would highly recommend this venue to everyone still searching for a fun place to have your reception!!

Ameristar was incredible to work with. We worked with Jennifer the entire time and she was incredible. She answered all of our questions, worked with us through all our meal choices and was there for everything. We did have two things that we weren’t crazy about, but understood. We used the outside area by the pool for our ceremony and prior to our wedding they were redoing some of the concrete work outside the pool. Because of some unforeseen issues, they couldn’t finish until after the wedding. Some of the grass was torn up because of this. We thought this would be an issue, but really once we got the chairs set up, you couldn’t notice. We also wanted to use our decorator to drape fabric from the ceiling. We weren’t allowed to use anyone but their inside decorator. We weren’t crazy about it, but in the end it all worked out. Overall we were so happy we went with Ameristar. Jennifer and the rest of the staff were incredible. Everyone gave rave reviews on the food and the cake was incredible. An excellent space with so many extras as well!

We recently had our wedding here, there were a lot of good things about the venue such as the food for our buffet we had, the executive chef Chris is amazing, the ceremony balcony is stunning in the fall. The bad things were that we were setup to rent 2 suites at a slight discounted rate the night before our wedding, we were told less than a month before our wedding when we went over some room details that the suites had been rented out already due to a poker tournament happening the same weekend as our wedding so we had to rent 3 standard rooms for the night before for almost all the bridesmaids and groomsmen to stay in. Bridesmaids got makeup/hair done, at 12:30pm day of wedding, Ameristar coordinator calls room to tell me that the bridal suite (we get comped for wedding night) is ready, we move there, get dressed. Someone went to use main bathroom within suite, they said water was at brim of the toilet, I called maintenance who came up and the guy flushed the toilet flooding the whole suite bathroom into the room itself on the carpet. He was yelling at women in bridesmaid dresses and a wedding gown to get in the bathroom to get their clothes out of there an hour before the wedding (not happening man) and Ameistar didn't have working fans to dry the carpet so they tried towel drying it. 5 hours later when we came back the floor was still wet in our bridal suite. Other issues occurred as well, I recommend keeping copies and records of conversations with the coordinator to look back on because there are things that they forget to do or end up changing, we had an amazing wedding but mostly because of our day of coordinator, my family helping, and the chef at Ameristar.
