American Party Rentals is a local, family-owned and operated business that began serving the Triangle community in 1989. Prior to opening the doors, Pete Daymont already had more than a decade of rental industry experience. Although he opened his first rental business in Maryland in 1977, it was his experience as a sales rep calling on the rental industry in North Carolina that eventually led to Pete and his wife Judy's "eureka!" moment. Believe it or not, it was far too common in Durham and the surrounding area in the late '80s for a rack of rental wine glasses to include four or five different makes and models. Showrooms were often more devoted to tool and construction rental displays than beautiful tabletop arrangements. After several years of seeing these inconsistencies and imperfections, Pete and Judy recognized the opportunity of a burgeoning college town and decided to put down roots in Durham to build a future for their young family. Their plan for success was simple: seek input from established local vendors and potential future customers, provide superior product quality and consistency, and exceed customer's service expectations. Thanks to this simple plan, American Party Rentals has been invited to the Triangle's best events for 25 years and counting.
Now operating under the second generation of Daymont ownership, Todd and Chad are excited and eager to build upon APR's reputation as a leader and innovator in the Triangle special event rental scene.

Service & Experience
From sales to linen and dish processing to delivery, our team is well-trained and experienced in everything from event planning to warehouse logistics. Our front of the house staff has a collective 50-plus years of rental industry experience! Our dedicated and loyal delivery team includes multiple employees who have been with us for more than 10 years. Many of our customers even know our delivery crew on a first-name basis.
At APR, service is a synonym for flexibility, patience, friendliness and a smile - whether it be a laugh over the phone or a greeting from a delivery driver.
Quality & Consistency
When we asked our long-term customers and industry partners why they choose American Party Rentals again and again, the answer we often heard was "consistency." We deliver consistent quality by inspecting every glass, plate, chair, etc. after every rental. Silverware is polished frequently and burnished annually. Wooden chairs are individually bagged to prevent chipping and scratching. Water spots on glassware? Not a chance. If you receive a piece of equipment that does not meet your standards in either functionality or appearance please give us a call as soon as possible so that we can make it right.
APR is conveniently located in the heart of the Triangle. We are an easy drive from almost anywhere with our warehouse and showroom situated between I-40 and the Durham Freeway on the edge of RTP.
Once you arrive at our facility, we are a one-stop shop for all of your special event rental needs! Linens, dinnerware, glassware, tents, tables, chairs and more are all available under one roof. Upon entering our showroom, you will receive a warm greeting and have the opportunity to test-drive different table setting combinations at our "play" table. Feel free to use our display tables as inspiration! We are also open from 9:00 to 1:00 on Saturdays if you are unable to visit during the work week.
While we encourage you to visit and see items in person, our entire inventory is available via our online catalog. You can even add items to a wish list and request a quote - we'll follow-up before the end of the next business day.
In 1989, we differentiated ourselves by soliciting input from local caterers and event planners to help create our opening inventory. Today we still listen intently and seek advice from our event partners and industry experts. This spirit of cooperation and continuous learning will allow all of us to continue to reach new heights in the events industry.
In the same sense, we will listen to your specific vision and provide feedback to make sure your event dreams become reality. Our event specialists will work within your budget and offer creative suggestions whether you're planning an extravagant wedding reception or a simple backyard barbeque.
We'll be honest and up front: APR most likely won't be the cheapest option in town. And with a few exceptions, we will not price-match our friends offering similar services. With that said, we strongly believe that you get what you pay for. Top notch quality and service requires top notch employees and training - and that comes at a cost.
We also won't play favorites with our pricing. Our price is our price no matter if you're a first-time customer or if you've been renting with us for 25 years. We believe that is the only way to guarantee every customer will receive the same level of consistent, excellent service they deserve.

The perfect touch!
All of those little items that you don't think about needing until...well you need them...was catered to perfectly by APR. A recommended vendor by our venue, after looking at their website, it was no contest that they had an amazing variety of rentals while still being insanely cost effective. We focused mainly on rentals needed for the dinner portion of our reception: linens, glassware, flatware, china, etc. and when we went in for a visit to their warehouse, we were actually able to pull some of our favorite pieces and set a table so we could see what it would all look like together. Even their basic pieces were gorgeous (because I could've cared less about having intricate designs on our forks and knives...but if you're into that kind of thing, you better believe they have it!). We chose two items to draw our focus on: a TO DIE FOR blue velvet table linen for the head and cake tables and a peacock patterned salad/dinner plate that brought just enough subtle uniqueness to set the tone for the whole evening. I also loved that Natalie gave me samples of all of the linens that we picked out so I had them to reference when making other color and design choices!!
