Annie was great to work with and has a true talent in the kitchen! We got sooo many great reviews about the dessert bar and I'm so bummed there were not ANY left overs! And I was nervous I ordered way to much haha. Our cake tasted amazing and Annie will definitely be my go-to place for future desserts for any and all events!

Annie is an incredible baker, artist, and an all around wonderful human being! She was a delight to work with from our initial consultation to delivery of our wedding cake and cupcakes. She was kind, timely, and professional all the way through.

We ordered an almond vanilla cake with raspberry filling, which was absolutely delicious! All the flavors we sampled were incredible, it was tough to choose! We got gluten free/vegan cupcakes for our guests with dietary restrictions, half rosette piping and half succulent. The succulents were absolutely gorgeous, with such wonderful attention to detail. I really appreciated that Annie chose accent colors for the succulents that complimented our wedding color palette. Based on her reviews and Instagram, it seems like no two succulent sets are the same, they are custom to the client. We got multiple compliments on the cupcakes throughout the night. She also did a beautiful job staging and displaying our desserts at the event.

We were so grateful to have Annie part of the team of vendors that made our wedding day so special. Do not hesitate to hire her for your wedding or event!

Annie, owner of Ambrosia Cakes, is amazing and her desserts are equally as amazing! I've hired her to be our wedding baker and she did not disappoint. As a self-proclaimed foodie and baker, it's difficult to find many desserts in town that are up to my standard. However, Annie and her wonderful cakes are not only up to that standard, but exceeded it greatly! Her cakes taste amazing and I love all of the options she has on her menu, her designs are beautiful, and she was so easy to work with. She was very flexible and open to any changes you wanted, whether it was the design, or changing up a standard menu item, or helping you incorporate different flavors into her existing menu. She also makes one of the best chocolate chip cookies that I have ever tasted and I've tried MANY chocolate chip cookies. Many of my guests also commented on how good all of the desserts were.

One of my favorite things about working with Annie is her responsiveness and making sure she had everything on her side taken care of so you didn't have to worry about her as a vendor. Not only that, but she also provided a sample box for me and my husband to enjoy post-wedding as we didn't get to eat the ones that were at the wedding.

Our wedding cake and cupcakes turned out GORGEOUS and DELICIOUS. We knew we wanted a desert theme, so it was a match-made-in-heaven when we came across Ambrosia. Annie was a pleasure to work with, she was super sweet and helpful! We ended up picking the pumpkin spice for our main cake, banana for half the cupcakes, and chocolate for the other half; all of which were delicious! We could not be happier with the cakes and HIGHLY recommend Ambrosia!

Annie is absolutely incredible and made all of our dessert dreams come true! I found Ambrosia from a blog post on “This is Tucson” a few years ago, and I knew if I ever got married, I had to have her succulent cupcakes. We received so many compliments from our guests, not only on the meticulous design, but on the incredible flavor as well. We even had a special request for an orange creamsicle groom’s cake. Annie went above and beyond and provided a tasting of this unique flavor to ensure she had it just right. We cannot thank Annie enough for her craft and providing a detail to our wedding that we will never forget.

I am thrilled with the cake we got from Annie at Ambrosia Cakes! Cake tasting was extremely easy, and when I expressed my disappointment that one of our ideal cake flavors wasn’t included in the tasting box, Annie gave me some cupcakes of the flavor at no extra cost!

Our cake had two flavors: One tier Mexican Hot Chocolate, and one tier Almond Vanilla. Both flavors were incredible, and our guests loved them! We had a special request to have our top tier include both flavors, and Annie was able to accommodate that!

We asked for a particularly detailed cake: blue and purple marbling with gold cracks. We weren’t sure what we were expecting, but the cake was ABSOLUTELY perfect!

I cannot thank Ms. Annie "Masterpiece" Matlick (as I will call her from now on), owner of Ambrosia Cakes Tucson for creating our wedding cake, and being patient with me throughout the entire process. I found Ambrosia through wedding wire, and I could tell right away that Ms. Matlick was intensely dedicated to her craft without compromising flavor. Annie was very understanding of the fact that I wanted a lemon cake with the perfect balance of sweet and tangy, and worked insanely hard zesting lemons, and soaking the cake to have the flavor come out perfectly. The butter cream is absolute perfection- you may be tempted to just put a cake topper on a bucket full of the cream and call it a day. As if that weren't enough, Ms. Matlick hand painted the tile design on the hexagon base of the cake (5+ hour process), and brought a lovely stencil option for me to look at, which was used to create the "hammered copper" look for one of our tiers.

I am speaking to any couple, including couples planning from out of state (in our case), Ms. Matlick is the best investment you can make for your wedding cake and other sweet treats.

Other notes:

-Be open to feedback from Ms. Matlick because she knows what tastes and looks best. I had originally not considered a fondant base until I was told that the summer heat might prove too challenging to support our cake and it's design had it been buttercream alone.

-You may change your cake flavor(s): I went from my original plan of a lemon cake with fresh raspberries and pistachio buttercream to a lemon cake with Ms. Matlick's homemade raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream based on the variety pack Ms. Matlick provided. I almost had the rum cake because the tasting cupcake was THAT GOOD.

You can't go wrong with Ambrosia Cakes! Annie is a tremendous baker and human! The entire staff was highly professional, and the desserts were some of the best we've ever had. We hired Ambrosia to make our wedding cake and dessert table, and they made the entire process so easy by allowing us to pick and choose types, styles, and flavors. Additionally, the equipment they have to display their work is in-style and high quality, adding even another layer to the visual appeal of the desserts. Thank you so much Ambrosia!

I sampled Annie's cakes first and did not look any further before hiring her for my wedding. My husband and I both fell in love with the Mexican hot chocolate cake (and I'm not even a cake person). We chose to do fresh succulents for our cake and Annie coordinated well with our florist (Desert Blooms) and created a design that was unique and stunning. We also had a desert table with cactus topped cupcakes for our guests with dietary restrictions, macarons, and churros. Everything was beautiful and tasted great. Annie was extremely pleasant to work with and a sense of calm during the chaos that is wedding planning, I cannot recommend her enough.

Annie is such a kind person with the funniest sense of humor! She was very responsive and made sure to walk you through everything you needed to know for ordering your cake. We chose a lemon cake with the blueberry compote filling and oh my goodness it was so good. The cake was super moist and full of flavor. I also let her know that we had many people with nut allergies attending the wedding and she reassured us that she was very careful with cross contamination. We requested that she decorate the cake with flowers from our florist and it turned out gorgeous! We had multiple compliments from our guest on how it was the best wedding cake they ever had and how beautifully decorated it was. Can’t wait to use Ambrosia Cakes in the future!
