I was SO IMPRESSED with my makeup after having Alaina Thomas of Alaina Thomas Makeup Artistry do it, I knew I had to write a review so others could look beautiful on their special day too!!! I googled makeup artists near me, and she was the first one that popped up. I called to see if I could get an appointment. Right away, I was impressed with how kind and professional she was on the phone! She was able to book me an appointment in a very timely manner.
When we started our appointment, the first thing she did was ask me what I (and I emphasize I) wanted for my special day. She wanted to make sure that I would look exactly how I envisioned myself to look! She then had me look at photos of celebrities on the computer asking me what makeup I like on them and what I don’t. I told her I liked a picture of Julianne Hough’s (from Dancing with the Stars and America’s Got Talent) makeup. She then asked me to point out photos of Julianne when I didn’t like the way her makeup was done. Alaina also asked me what kind of look I was personally going for. Did I want a natural look, a bronzed look, etc. She took all of this information and used it to do my makeup exactly the way I wanted. If I suggested something that she knew was not going to be appealing, she kindly suggested how she would do it. I trusted her right away and let her work her magic.
As she did my makeup, she explained EVERYTHING to me so I could continue the look even after my special day. She explained what brushes she used and why. What colors she used and why. How she applied the makeup and why.
Alaina would stop after each step of my makeup application and have me closely look at it in the mirror. She would ask if I liked what she did so far. She wanted to know if I liked the color she chose and if it was the look I was going for. Again, she wanted to make sure that I looked EXACTLY how I envisioned myself to look on my day!
When she was done applying all of my makeup, I was STUNNED!!! I’ve never looked SO GOOD!!! This may sound vain, but I couldn’t stop looking at myself in the mirror because I LOVED the way I looked so much!!!
She told me exactly what brands, colors, brushes, cleaners, etc that she used on me so I could purchase them and continue the look after my special day. She does NOT have you buy overly priced makeup from her. In fact, she does not have you buy any makeup from her. She tells you drugstore makeup to use and high-end products you can use if that is what you want. She also tells you the websites/stores you can purchase them at. I’m on a budget so I appreciate her recommending things that still look FANTASTIC AND I can afford!

If you want to have a makeup artist who is kind, professional, and extremely skilled at what she does, call Alaina! Alaina is amazing! She takes such pride in her work and she is truly an artist. She knows exactly what works for everyone's skin types and finds perfect ways to highlight natural beauty. I booked Alaina hair and makeup for my wedding and she made everyone look amazing. Jojo did everyone's hair and I had a group of bridesmaids that are extremely picky and they all loved everything! These two are a great team and I highly recommend them to anyone! Hair and makeup was high on my list of priorities for my wedding since you have those photos forever and booking Alaina Thomas MUA exceeded my expectations!

If your looking for someone to be completely flexible and take the time to listen to what you want go with Alaina you won’t regret it. She is absolutely amazing listened to everything I wanted and even changed things I didn’t like at first. She made me feel comfortable and beautiful. I highly recommend her to any bride. And after many tears and long night of dancing my makeup still looked great!!

I was so happy with the way my hair and makeup turned out with Alaina and her team. Even though I had limited time to do a trial (the wedding was across the country from where I live), she made sure to fit me in. On the wedding day, Alaina was right on time, made all of my bridesmaids and I feel so comfortable, and all of us loved the final result! The makeup lasted well all day as well (even though it was very hot outside). I would recommend Alaina to anyone and everyone!

Working with Alaina was awesome. She is so personable and easy going. She did a trial for my wedding makeup that set my mind at ease. If you don't like it, she will listen to exactly what you do like and what you imagine looking like on your wedding day. I have had my makeup done by her for my best friends wedding and my own wedding and would 100% recommend her!

She really wants you to feel your absolute best on your wedding day, and wants you to feel comfortable and confident in the makeup all night long!! She achieves this by doing her utmost best to understand what you envision for your bridal makeup and is willing to help make adjustments or changes as needed so that you look absolutely gorgeous on your special day. On another note, I can't forget to mention the hairstylist. Jojo is an absolutely skilled hairstylist, who couldn't be a better hairstylist for Alaina!! This team is professional, patient, punctual and personable. All my bridesmaids loved their conversations with them both during their getting ready. Both Alaina and Jojo helped each of my bridesmaids look exactly how they envision for the wedding day. Overall, I highly recommend Alaina Thomas!!!

Alaina is absolutely AMAZING. She's friendly and talented. I had her to my hair and makeup for our vow renewal and I was absolutely blown away when I saw the final result.
