ADK Northwoods is a rustic wedding venue in Athol, New York. Couples will have access to a charming log cabin in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains, and can say their vows among the lush landscape. Its rustic interior and breathtaking outdoors can make for an unforgettable wedding day.

Facilities and Capacity

This spacious lodge was originally built in the 1940’s, and was the private home to a German family before its doors opened to the public. The lodge’s interior holds 4,200 square feet of floor space, where up to 125 people can be comfortable seated. Its walls show off natural wood details, with plenty of windows to cover indoor events in natural light. The rustic log cathedral ceilings feature an antique wagon wheel chandelier, adding a warm, welcoming light on a couple’s big day. Bistro lighting surrounds the indoor space to give off an elegant glow. Bartenders or caterers will be free to use the U-shaped bar area, which is accented with white birch wood and two separate entrances. Soon-to-be-weds will be free to decorate the exposed beams and table surfaces to create any theme they desire. A separate rustic barn is present on the property, and makes for a bucolic backdrop for photos. For open-air celebrations, couples and their loved ones will have access to the picturesque grounds, from the lush gardens to the serene waterfall and pond. Cocktail hours held outside will have the alpine views as a natural backdrop. ADK Northwoods is located just minutes away from the Lake George Region, for breathtaking photo sessions and first looks.

Russ and Connie wedding and 25th

We were married on July 3 1971 and had our reception at Northwoods Inn. Connie grew up on Mountain Road and I had an A-Frame on the corner of Mountain and Valley Road. We used to go square dancing at Northwoods every Saturday night, the place was packed. The original owners, Jake and Hilda just sold Northwoods prior to our wedding. The new owners gave us a wonderful wedding reception. The venue decor was fantastic.Years past and other owners took over and was shut down for many years. However it was opened again just before our 25 anniversary and we immediately booked it for our 25th. Again it was fantastic with live band and food and drinks.I'm sorry I can't judge the new owners, but as far as the venue goes, it is beautiful. We now live in North Carolina the past 10 years and celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2021. Although my wife Connie past away last September from cancer, we always talked about Northwoods even with our friends who attended and would say how much fun they had at our wedding and 25th. Northwoods is phenomenal and I would highly recommend it for an occasion
