Annie and David are amazing and we are so fortunate to have had them as our engagement and wedding photographers last year. I rarely take any photos but Annie and David made the process so natural and fun. They directed me and my husband for poses that felt whimsical and turned out so beautiful. They also coordinated so well with all our vendors from our wedding planner, MUA, to DJ. They really were on top of all communication and helped the day run smoothly.

Annie and David definitely went above and beyond in every way possible. My husband and I didn’t have a specific spot designated for sunset photos on wedding day. But Annie and David had come prepared w a backup plan just in case we needed it. They planned a route to drive to from our venue for photos at bodega bay. It wouldn’t have been easy to find on our own. But of course they made it all feel so natural. The photos came out amazing, and it was all thanks to their planning and coordination. Oh, and during our get ready photos, I had lost one of my wedding earring posts, and was silently super bummed I couldn’t wear them. But Annie was on her knees crawling to find them. i kept telling her it was okay, but she was lovingly persistent and of course found them and made my day. I’m so thankful for Annie and David; they truly made a lasting impact full of fun memories on our special day.

We just picked up our wedding album and the photos look even more amazing in print. Annie and David were so patient with our tardy and indecisive photo selection process. I’m so stunned by the quality of the all the photos. They even gifted us a beautiful glass usb so we can keep the photos forever.

We had a truly flawless experience working with Annie and David for our wedding photos. Our initial meeting had the casual nature of a conversation so that we could get to know each other while also being thorough in terms of the overview, expectations, and options they shared with us. They went above and beyond to get to know us, including asking for our engagement photos as well as photos we loved so they could gain an accurate sense of what we wanted our wedding photos to look like. As we approached our wedding date, they asked us about lots of day-of details that we hadn’t even thought about so we left well-prepared heading into our big day. And on the wedding day itself, Annie and David were magical: they were invisible at the times when we wanted to be immersed in our special day and yet they were impeccably ushering people about, giving us timely reminders, and, of course, capturing every memorable moment. And if all of this hadn’t already justified the cost to work with them, once we received more than 500 edited photos, we knew without a doubt that we had made the best choice in picking A Tale Ahead. Our pictures are perfect! Thanks to Annie & David, we can relive our perfect day over and over again every time we see our pictures on the wall, on our phones, or in our albums. We couldn’t be more thankful for all their hard work.

Annie and David were an absolute delight to work with. From our very first meeting with them all the way to even now as we are selecting photos for our wedding album, Annie has been incredibly responsive to our (many) questions and inquiries. It is a quality that we truly appreciate from a vendor as it definitely made our wedding planning process less stressful. We also had a blast with Annie and David on our wedding day, as they just felt like friends that we were hanging out with the entire day. It goes without saying that their work is phenomenal; one thing that we really liked about Annie and David's work is that they are great at working with lighting, and our guests also commented on how beautiful the lighting turned out in all the photos! We also love how they captured so many candid, happy moments not just of us but also of our guests. We'd highly recommend working with Annie and David as your wedding photographers!

Annie and David are such a fun and talented duo to work with. They photographed our proposal, engagement photos and wedding, and they were super patient and understanding with us when we rescheduled our 2020 wedding twice and eventually pivoted to a microwedding. The whole endeavor of planning a wedding is already stressful enough as it is, but working with Annie and David honestly made us feel more calm and confident.

Communication: they are super on top of their emails and respond very promptly to questions. They have a ton of wedding experience and have a lot of great advice on timing the photos for optimal lighting, posing, etc.

Photography style: We love that their photos have vivid, bright colors and still have lovely soft lighting that make the end result look dreamy. Annie is great at directing how to pose, so you don't have to spend extra energy planning how and where to stand.

Videography: We had Annie and David record our wedding ceremony and a video highlight reel, and they did a phenomenal job. The videography had the same soft feel as the photos, and the editing was stellar, with movie-like panning and cuts to different angles. The sound quality was also great; we were miced up and our vows were crystal clear.

Overall, we're so glad that we had Annie and David to capture our special moments and would definitely recommend them for your wedding!

Not much more I can see that the other reviews didn't! I don't usually write reviews but David and Annie did the best possible job I could have asked for. I shot them an email only a couple days before I planned to propose, and David quickly responded and set up a call to go over details. On the night before and day of they were very responsive and were flexible around weather, although I didn't end up needing to reschedule. The photos turned out absolutely fantastic and family and friends love them.

During the wedding: They were fast, quick to respond to the event schedule/timeline, professional in their interactions with my family and friends, and captured every single moment of our wedding. They made sure to capture all the events and moments we discussed ahead of time and those that we did not anticipate (like signing our marriage license). They had all the best equipment and lighting ready for daylight, shaded areas, and nighttime. Annie and David know how to manage a crowd, and how to help couples pose, and look best in their photos.

Before the wedding: My wedding was planned and canceled due to COVID and we finally settled on a venue and date for Sept. 2020. Annie and David were flexible during these challenges and accommodated all of the changes in dates and venues.

After the wedding: I know how long post-processing of photos can take, and I was so impressed with how quickly and efficiently they got my photos to me with GORGEOUS post-processing applied. Their stylistic choices with photos (lighting, hues, poses, angles, mood) is what originally drew me to hire them. My photos arrived in an online format so that I could download and share all the photos with friends and family with options to physically print any of them.

Hiring David and Annie was hands down one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding. They shot our proposal photos and we absolutely loved working with them so couldn't wait to hire them for our wedding. The two of them were incredibly accommodating (including rescheduling our wedding due to COVID) and made us feel comfortable throughout every stage of the planning process as well as during the wedding itself - they were so wonderful to have around on the wedding day (our friends and family agreed!). Annie and David are amazing people and photographers :) The pandemic changed up so much of our plans, but they were so flexible and were willing to change up what we initially agreed upon to something that made sense for our (much smaller) wedding. David also helped us livestream our wedding on YouTube so that all the 100+ family and friends who couldn't make it could also watch in real-time. They also take the best photos, sometimes when you're not even realizing that you have a photo taken of you which is perfect for people like me who freeze up in front of the camera. They're also great with getting little kids to look at the camera for group photos :) The photo editing is also very professional, and they won't do anything that makes the photo not look like you, but take a lot of care into editing out accidental eyeliner smudges and scratches on a shiny surface so everything looks picture perfect!

Annie and David did a great job from day one! We met via facetime for our initial consult and they were both so easy to talk to that we knew they would be a good fit to make us feel comfortable on our big day. They were both enthusiastic and willing to work with whatever we needed: distance planning, recommendations for engagement photos, travel to the wedding site, and even include our beloved German Shepard into the photos! I would highly recommend this duo for anyone that wants to capture memorable photos from any event.
