winter aisle decor

so i would like to have bare trees going down the aisle. i found a site that sells fake or real branches that can be up to 3-4 ft tall, but i was hoping for some trees that i can hang lights on and that would be about 5 ft. or more. does anyone know a place that sells fake ones? real ones are a little expensive. i have a picture i found that i absolutely love, but i dont know how to post the picture.

Artificial trees aren't cheap but take a look right after the holidays for the best deals possible. Any craft store or places like Target and Walmart and Sears sells trees at Christmas.

You may want to check with a floral supply place. You may be able to rent them. If you live close to a city, they may have a wholesale flower mart or check with a florist to see where they would get their supply. Another option, check Craigslist and search firewood, some of these people may have access to wooded areas where you might find the trees that you are looking for. Good luck!

I would try to rent. What will you do with them after? Are you hiring a florist? Will they do it for you? I've done similar things. Sometimes I use real trees and spray paint them, but they can be brittle and I wouldn't put them where people will walk and hang things from them. Since it's after the holidays, you may be able to rent them from a store or place that used them for their seasonal holiday decor.

I have to agree with the renting option. That way you will not have to figure out what to do with them afterwards. I have done the real brances painted and I agree with MJ that they can be brittle.

Hi! This is my first post on wedding wire :-) Andy, I am having a fall wedding in Virginia and I have been searching and searching the web for bare trees to line the aisle, frame the alter area and be placed at each corner of the reception dance floor. I found this picture in a magazine with bare trees that had white trunks. They had lights strung in them and flower arrangements at the base. It was just gorgeous, but I am not sure how to recreate it, since I can't seem to find anyone who sells these trees (live or fake) at the correct height (7-8 feet, so none of the tall men hit their heads). Meeting with a tent/party rental company in about two weeks, so hopefully they will have ideas. I like the posts about about shopping around after the holidays and floral supply places. Anyone know how to post a picture (I would have to scan first)? Keep us posted on how you tackle this decor idea, and I will do the same!

I line dour aisle with branches from ikea. i cut them to the height I wanted and then spray painted the ones for the family...i'l warn you, spray painting branches is HARD because they are small. i did the same for our centerpieces and it takes some time
