Will you lose weight before the wedding? Whats your goal?

beautyofdreams, on October 26, 2015 at 5:00 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 85

I was inspired by another post where the bride lost 30lbs!!! Very commendable. I plan to loose 30 lbs by August 2016! I have a gym at work and from 12-12:45 they have classes everyday. Some cycle and bootcamp classes. I am also thinking about signing up with a trainer for a session on Saturdays or Sundays. I bought the 21 day fix but did not last 21 days. I'm thinking of adding that to my exercise regiment. How much do you want to loose? How do you plan to do it?

Does sanity have a weight? With 12 days left, that's all I'll probably lose.

I am about 35-40 lbs above my normal weight right now. I would like to at least get back to my normal size by the wedding. In a perfect world, I would lose another 40 on top of that.

ETA: I plan to lose it by eating like a human. I am vegan I used to eat only fruits, veggies, legumes, and grains. I became a junk food vegan after i moved in with FH. I've been eating a lot of mock meats and processed foods.

I'd love to lose about 20 lbs before mine. Seems doable but FH is so much bigger than I am and can get away with eating so much more than me! I just called my gym about personal training to get myself started on some sort of workout plan coming off of a collarbone break. I usually climb as a workout but that is not really an option for me right now. I'm fairly active in general but I really need to find a way to cut mega calories out of my diet. Actually, I already know how to do this: stop drinking so much beer and eating so much ice cream! OGRandi's post was definitely inspiring. Here we goooo...again...

@futuremrslav I can only imagine that close to your date! I'm sure everything will turn out great!

@theprettysweetlife oh i so understand the processed food. I have a goal of cooking more but its so difficult because by the time i get home, take care of dog, and try to cook we are eating at 9pm....I keep telling myself I will prep meals on sunday or do more crockpot cooking but I have yet to do it.

@GreatNewHites Hopefully the trainer will be able to give you some alternative exercises that still keep you active. Im a firm believer that fitness activities are always better than the gym atleast for me. Thats why i love taking classes or having a trainer with direct supervision vs. just going to the gym.

I gained about 70 lbs since meeting FI. Like @GreatNewHites, I'm basically marrying a lumberjack. He's 6'5" and can eat almost literal garbage and fluctuate within 5 lbs of the day we met. Since August I've lost about 20 lbs and I'd like to lose as much as I can (in a healthy way) before my final dress fitting. If it's only 10 more pounds, great. If it's 50 more pounds, also great.

In August I started working out 3 to 4 days a week and recently stepped it up to 5-6 days a week just because I've found that personally it makes a huge difference in my results. I started counting primary macro ingredients and cleaning up what I ate. I tried a high protein, high fat, low carb diet but found that moderate protein, moderate carb, low fat works better for me personally. I highly recommend taking (or getting FI to take) your measurements weekly. The scale will lie and if you're someone who needs constant indicators of your progress (like me!), it's a good way to get them.

I've lost about 45 so far since March. I'd love to loose another 15-30 so I'm in the healthy weight zone for my height. I've been stuck around -45 pounds for a little over a month due to eating badly around my birthday, our 6 year dating anniversary and now being on vacation. I have lost and plan to continue to loose weight by eating high protein, high fiber, low carb, low calorie under 1600 per day). It's all about portion control, moderation and eating healthier. I track everything with Myfitnesspal and try to hit my macro goals. I also do cardio and weight lifting at least once a week at the gym and go for lots of walks.

I want to lose 30lbs but that would mean 15lbs a month, lol. So probably not all that doable. I was on track, had lost 4lbs, but then got sick Smiley sad So here we go again! For me it's more about inches. I'm currently a 43-35-45 and would love to get down to 40-32-42. I'm pretty sure I can get there!

It's less about weight for me since I'm trying to gain muscle, but based on my current lifting ability losing 5-10 lbs by the wedding would be nice. I just won a weight loss competition between friends, where I lost 5 in a little under 3 months, so I'm pretty excited to see where my dress shop measures me at in a couple weeks.

I'd love to lose 18. It would put me at the weight when I met FH/moved to Texas/ graduated college. Plus at that weight I could literally wear anything, it didn't matter how short, tight, or skimpy and that would be a huge bonus for my honeymoon.

OMG date twin and weight loss twin! I would love to lose 30 by the wedding date! I am currently on weight watchers and I have lost 8 pounds so far, so I would like to still aim at 30 to go. I also try to hit 10,000 steps a day and work out 3-4 times a week. Once I'm done with this semester of law school, next one will be easier and I will have much more time!

I'd love to lose the last 5-10. I got on a big kick and lost 10 lbs right after the engagement, but I've since stalled. I find myself thinking, "I still have 10 months," but I know it'll come quick!

I wanted to lose 40 pounds before the wedding and I've lost 30 of it simply by cutting carbs and walking 45 minutes a day 5 days a week with my two kids. I still have 10 left to lose before December so fingers crossed

As far as I'm concerned, wedding planning time is the worst time to lose weight. Stress eating, lack of time for exercise or preparing healthy meals, etc. mean that most people gain rather than lose during that period.

Since my wedding, I've lost about 45 lbs. That's over an extremely long period--it's been about 10 lbs. a year. On the other hand, the average person stops losing and starts gaining again within 6 months, and I've managed to keep losing for coming up on five years.

I don't actually have a target, because I never want to get to the point that I figure I'm "finished," and slide back into my old ways. I figure at some point, I'll probably stop losing. But healthy eating and lots of exercise have many health benefits other than weight loss, so I plan to keep those up for life.

For me it's not about the number, but I want to feel better, so fh and I are eating better and working out more.
