What type of gift do you give the ring bearer?

sarao, on June 21, 2010 at 11:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

I have two ring bearers. One is four and one is two. I haven't the slightest idea what to give them as a thank-you for being in the wedding. Any suggestions?

Get some little age appropriate gift that maybe they can play with at reception or after ceremony or something?

My ring bearer is 4 & I had the same question. LOL. I wanted to get him a shirt that said King of the Ring to put him into after pictures that way he won't ruin the tie I am renting or the shirt & pants his mom is buying him for the ceremony.

I was thinking a toy but I wasn't sure if that was approriate. I wan't sure if I am supposed to be giving him something else that he would keep. I don't know.

Ok, I will look at orientatal trading. That is a good idea. A toy is probably best. Now i have to decide on a toy.

Give them an age appropiate toy. That way they can play with it and have fun, and they are little and wont really care about having a keepsake or anything. if you are planning on giving the gift at the rehearsal dinner, you should put in some crayons and coloring book and give him his gift at the beginning so he can color through the meal!

I made goodie bags for my ring bearer and flower girl... both had age appropriate toys, gummy candy, and hard candy inside. Just be sure if you are giving a toy that it doesn't make any noise, especially since many kids won't want to wait to open it until after the ceremony (imagine having buzz lightyear say "to infinity and beyond" during your ceremony..... not good)

If you give them something that they can do during the ceremony they tend to do well. I'm not sure what we are doing yet, but we looked at some of the crayola color stuff with the clear marker that the color is in the paper so that they don't make a mess on themselves or on anything else like their clothes or the pew. As far a a keepsake, save your money they care about the sugar and toys, you'll have pictures for them to remember the day later on in life!

My Ringbearer is 8 and I am trying to figure out what to do because he is a bit older. And something engraved just seemed kind of silly. I am thinking of getting him a watch or something. He likes baseball. It has to be $10 because that is what I have spent on everyone for gifts.

My ringbearer is getting the "pillow". My ringbearer will be carring a bear with ribbons in our wedding colors with the rings on them. He gets to keep the bear. But then again he's going to be 4 and is our son.
