I realized today after looking at few ladies who have found their dress (congrats to those who have btw ), I took my dress out today for the first time in months. I just remembered that maybe a few or a couple of months ago I did a post about altering the neckline on my dress to a sweetheart...

I realized today after looking at few ladies who have found their dress (congrats to those who have btw Smiley laugh), I took my dress out today for the first time in months. I just remembered that maybe a few or a couple of months ago I did a post about altering the neckline on my dress to a sweetheart neckline, and it hit me today I never took any pictures of what it would look like with a sweetheart neckline. So here are the pictures. Which way do you ladies think it looks better? Keep it the way it is or alter it to a sweetheart neckline? THanks ladies! And excuse the fact I have on no makeup and look horrible lol.

1st pic- Sweetheart neckline

2nd pic- how it is now

3rd pic- close up of the beading

I like the sweetheart, but you would have to remove the scallop trim lace, which looks like it's part of the fabric. you could maybe do it if you have the seamstress lay another layer of lace over the neckline...

Thanks for all the opinions ladies! I still haven't met with my seamstress yet, I also need to have it hemmed more now that I am not wearing heels anymore, I just figured it would be easier to wait until I have my boots and just get measured for everything in one visit. I have full confidence in her.

@ Clare I do plan on asking her to remove the two scallop trim you can see.

Definitely looks better as a sweetheart neckline. Buuuuut, I think you might be wearing your dress up too high. Not trying to be a perv lol (When I went dress shopping they kept pulling it down and telling me "that's where it should fall when it's in your size.")

I love the scallop look in the stock photo you posted & if you could get the scallop on your dress like that I would leave it. If cannot acheive the look of stock photo would definitely go with the sweetheart. Good luck love your dress!!!

Im also partial to sweetheart necklines. Although I like the scalloped look just as much as the sweetheart look for your dress. But I am definitely having mine altered at DB as well for the sweetheart neckline

I like the sweet heart idea, but i like original better!!!!!! But if you do that they are going to charge a pretty penny. They will have to re arrange the beading patterns, open up the cups, do the sweetheart, and add the beading back. The top structure of the dress will change drastically. From the looks of it seems impossible with the built in corset

I still have to meet with my seamstress to see if she an even do it. I am using a local seamstress recommended by one of my mom's friends. I have seen the wedding dress she made for her daughter, all the beading and all that is on it is unreal, it looks like something out of a store, I have full confidence in her. If she can't do it, I will leave it like it is, I'm not bothering with david's for alterations. The David's shop is to far of a drive for me to pay gas on top of alteration prices.
