Pics of grooms holding bouquets???

l, on May 23, 2012 at 9:43 AM Posted in Planning 0 11

What's with all the pics of men holding the bride's bouquet? I'm not knocking it, maybe I just don't understand.

I'm not sure what pics you mean.. but I'd suggest that weddings and bridal parties are fairly gender fluid these days and it might not be terribly traditional but its not all that unusual. My side of the wedding includes two women and one man...my partner's side includes the same but her two women are likely to dress like men.. though her MOm has yet to decide...

I'm not sure what there is to understand but maybe that's because I don't find it unusual.

No no.....Sorry.... I should have been more clear. The GROOM holding the bride's bouquet.

I am in NO way suggesting men shouldn't hold bouquets in ANY wedding (man/woman, same sex, etc.). I'm totally open minded in that respect.

I think this may be like a new trend or something.

We're not much for trend or tradition, so this might not help you much, but..

My groom would probably hold it for me for like a second, but he wouldn't pose a picture with it haha. Kinda same goes for my purse. He'll hold my purse while I tie my shoe [bad example, but something quick-ish, you get the idea haha], but you wouldn't catch him browsing the entire mall with it ;].

Oh.. sorry... I'm feeling a bit paranoid these days with preachers calling for me and mine to be in concentration camps with electrified fences... I jumped and I apologize.

I think its a trend, and maybe part of the gay wedding thing.. perhaps its a two groom thing? or a posing thing? or something like -- look at me, I'm manly enough to pose with the bouquet?

For what its worth, for every gay male wedding I've been to, none of them have carried bouquets...

@Lisa do not apologize. It makes me sick that people have to feel like that and especially when it comes to a day that's supposed to be one of the happiest of their lives.

I think it's a trendy thing too....whatever floats their boat! We won't be doing that.

I think it's just a new trend in "funny/fun" pictures...

I have seen all the men holding the women's flowers while the women stand with their arms folded...or the groom showing his ring off to his GM and them "freaking out like girls"

    I'm assuming it's just a new fad....

It's supposed to be funny, it's not like they're carrying it down the aisle or anything. They take the pictures for fun

I know for certain that one of my male bridesmaids is going to want a photo op with my bouquet -- its just him and I'm thrilled. We also have the husband of the best man who has been teasing me since we asked them to be in the BP -- "so I get to wear that dress, right?" ... he is a drag queen... but he's been told no... I did something with him in drag once and he got WAY more attention than me, so I won't do that again. *grin*

The pics are kind of cute...

Grooms holding bouquets photos is JUST FOR FUN -- things you normally don't do--you do at wedding for fun and game... as you can see,,,, it obvious that they are posing for the camera Smiley smile If you see your friend do that,,, doesn't it bring a quick smile to your face?

I guess I was looking at it as an artistic approach (like the one I posted above) and I didn't get it....like.....a man is holding a bouquet of flowers.... that doesn't do anything for me. I never saw the funny shots with the guys faces holding the bouquets though and I like that.
