Unfortunately, this is the one item that we are unable to negotiate. Our cake will be 4 tiers and will cost between $600 - $1,000. I refuse to pay more than $1,000.

I'm making mine. Our 4 tier cake will be under $100. Smiley tongue But I've seen cake prices range around $4-$6/person as an "inexpensive" cake from a bakery. Places like Costco and Walmart make fairly good tasting cakes for much less.

I looked into cakes and got a quote for a 4 tier single flavor $980. I am making my own and that should cost about $100 and I can do 4 different flavors Smiley smile

Mines was 2.67 per person which added up to 200.25.. It was a 3 tier cake.. The wedding cake was part of our contract with the venue.. I didn't have an outside caterer.

660.00 and it was sooo worth it. Raspberry and chocolate filling. Icing was buttercream.

The cake to the side was what he made for us from cutting off the corners of the 3rd layer and that is what we cut for the cutting ceremony

$750 includes one two tier ombré cake for FH and I to cut, 200 cupcakes in 3 flavors, and tax/delivery set up charge. I think we got pretty good deal.

We'll have 160 guests, so that comes out to about $4.70 per person.

A friend is making mine. She says that it is her wedding gift and I don't need to pay anything. I am still planning on giving her a financial gift as thinks, but i don't know how much.

NotFroofy made ours. Total cost for the ingredients was about $100. Then again, she spent the whole summer before our wedding testing out cake recipes. If you count the ingredients for the "test" cakes, it would be a lot more. But I didn't mind "testing" all those cakes!

A local grocery store chain, Coborns. I think they are only in MN, maybe a couple in the Dakotas or Wisconsin.
