Free Wedding Stuff!

Amanda, on January 21, 2012 at 2:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 42

I'm new to the site, with a wedding in less than 6 months, and I've been reading through tons of posts. I've seen many comments about free items- free wedding planner, free vistaprint sample kit- but I haven't seen anywhere where all of these deals are located in one place! So, if you know of something that you can get for free as a newly engaged bride/groom/couple, please post here and share with all of us!

Here are the sites for the first two that I mentioned:

1800registry.com (when you register, make sure you check the box before you enter the site to get your free wedding planner)

https://secure.vistaprint.com/wedding-sample-kit.aspx

Thanks in advance!!

    Vistaprint

Here is a link to have them send you paper samples. The linen is pretty nice.

and sample of rack cards and postcards

(I'm pretty creative in thinking of ideas to use these items in a wedding related way)

    Rings

They show a price about $299. You choose the one you like and input the code "brides" at the checkout screen, *Ring becomes Free.

It is $25 for shipping and $40 for engraving.

I have gone to two wedding festivals (in SC) and you get TONS of free stuff at them! For example, free magazines, free totes, got a ring cleaner yesterday Smiley smile, free one-year subscription to Brides magazine (first one showed up at my apartment only 2 weeks after the festival!)...there are also tons of giveaways and prizes...I also got free lunch because there is more food and cake than you can stand! I guess technically it costs $7 to get in, but still!

Holy cow, how did I not know about JVL Jewelry? I might just have to order FH's ring from there because they have a very similar band to the one he wants and it will save me $400. He's a little untrusting of it, but after going through the forums, I think it sounds legit. Thanks for the help!

If a person has a natural high acidity level in his/her skin, it is possible for his/her finger to "turn green" from silver or gold jewelry, especially when the weather is hot and humid. The green is actually caused by oxidation, and all silver will oxidize (it's also what gives silver a tarnished look). Or if the jewelry items contain nickel. It's not poisonous in small quantities but it can provoke a reaction in people allergic to nickel.

This "green finger effect" may also be an allergic reaction to alloy elements in sterling silver or gold. In some cases, the alloys, used to make jewelry more durable, may react with your body chemistry, causing a harmless green or black discoloration on the skin, which can be easily removed with soap and water. For this reason, most retail silver jewelry and white gold jewelry is plated with rhodium, which serves as a defensive layer.

    They are tungsten.

Steel, titanium and tungsten are all hypo-allergenic and should not turn your fingers green.
