Marie Crawford's Bridal is a very cute boutique in Urbana, MD. The women that work at the shop are helpful and easy to work with. Most of the time, they were pretty organized. I received the dresses I ordered on time and they worked with my bridesmaids to ensure payment and delivery were all met on time.

The shop in Urbana, MD is nicely decorated however, it's small and because of this, there isn't a huge selection but she has many beautiful gowns to choose from.

Marie herself is very nice but seems to be disorganized at times and her current assistant doesn't know the first thing about customer service. The assistant didn't seem to know about an appointment that I made with HER two days prior to me arriving at the boutique to have my daughter's dress steamed. I actually had to wait a half hour for someone to open the boutique as I was early for my appointment. If your hours are from 11 to 6 then someone should be there from 11 to 6.

The one good thing I have to say is about the seamstress, Shelly. She was AWESOME and did a fantastic job and was very reasonably priced for the amount of work that needed to be done. 5-STARS for Shelly!

I'm only recommending this boutique because I think it's a relatively new business and I think that if the issues that I raised above are addressed, it would mean all the difference in the world.

I did find my dress at Marie Crawford's Bridal so I am grateful for that, however, I was definitely disappointed with the shop and the seamstress who did my alterations. If I would have known ahead of time what I was going to deal with, I would have recorded the style number and bought the dress online or elsewhere. I loved my dress but I wouldn't recommend this shop, here is why:

1. I picked out several dresses on their website..when I arrived they didn't have a single one of those dresses in stock.
2. There are only about 100 dresses in stock (if that), so choices are very limited.
3. They also only have a few veils available.. I had to go to another bridal shop for a veil.
4. The shop is super small. Even if you find a dress, there is only one mirror and you can't really see the dress that well.
5. They didn't steam my dress, I had to pay another shop to steam it for me. I was told the alteration lady would steam it but that wasn't true.
6. My dress came in late and I had to keep calling to find out when it was in. The staff was very unprofessional and everytime I was in there they acted like it was a hassle to get up from behind the counter to help me.
7. There seems to only be one person working at any given time. Once my dress was in, I was so excited to go pick it up. I scheduled an appointment over a week in advance. I received a call the day of my appointment from the lady working at that time and said she couldn't be there because she needed to go pick up her kid! Can you believe that! She wanted me to change my appointment..I was very disappointed and irritated..because I had already waited weeks longer then expected for the dress. She did call back later and let me come in to get my dress that day..but that whole thing was incredibly unprofessional and ridiculous.
8. I had an appointment for alterations but when I arrived for the appointment the alteration lady wasn't there. I had to wait for over an hour for her to show up.

I was beyond happy when I didn't have to deal with that shop anymore! I didn't get my bridesmaids dresses there because I knew that would be a nightmare too! If I didn't absolutely love the dress, I would have never dealt with that shop. The entire experience was so problematic and unprofessional. The only positive thing I can say for the shop is that their dresses are resonable priced.

We had an made an appointment and showed up and the girl behind the computer sat there and said in a very rude tone can I help you and then never got up from behind the desk!

There are only about 25 dresses at this store, no selection and the sales staff is awful she never moved from behind the desk so we left. We were there 10 mins.

Awful, Awful, Awful. They were great on first meeting for my 2 bridesmaids to try on dresses. From that point on it was absolutely awful. We had a hard time reaching anyone on the phone. It took my sister at least 5 tries to get the dresses she ordered. Even though she went during store hours no one was there. Finally it was time for our dresses to arrive and she just happened to go over to the store since she was in the area and it was closed. We were never contacted during the process. It became a very annoying and difficult ordeal working with Marie to find out where our dresses were. And when we did eventually get a hold of her it was only to find out our dresses would be 2 or more weeks later than she had originally told us, yet she did not see the need to let us know this ahead of time or that her store closed and we could no longer pick up our dresses as planned. We had to go out of our way to meet her and eventually get the dresses.
