I have to begin by talking about how warm and kind Vanessa is. She is so sweet, and so considerate that she can make just about anybody comfortable! Vanessa is a consummate professional and was so helpful on our wedding day. She made sure to get everyone situated and gathered together for the pictures. And the pictures...my goodness, she has an eye for photography! She makes everyhing look so much better, and she does it while capturing all the important moments. I went through our photos, and it felt like I was there again. I would highly recommend her to anyone, in fact...I would strongly suggest it!

Vanessa Stump photographed both my engagement session and my wedding day. She is a very kind, pleasant lady with amazing talent and good skills working with difficult people. Vanessa is a very busy lady who takes pictures for magazines, so communicating with her can be a slow process, but other than that, she is perfect!

While Vanessa was traveling through the Bay Area to do some Father's Day shoot for a family, she quickly scheduled an impromptu shoot with us. Her sweet-natured personality instantly put my shy husband at ease, and we shared some laughs together. In addition to a few posed photos, she sometimes shot us from a distance or when we were joking around in-between photos, so we could share some funny and romantic moments without necessarily knowing whether or not our picture was being taken. The end result was a very natural, joyful set of pictures.

At the wedding, we had a very similar experience. Vanessa was professional, posing us nicely for formals and being completely unobtrusive the rest of the time. I actually preferred the pictures I didn't know she was taking to the formals, though the latter were arranged tastefully and with style. My father is a difficult person who was alternating between hitting on her and making ridiculous faces in photographs, but she managed to be classy and sweet-talk him into getting a couple of nice shots.

I also noticed that, in both of our shoots, Vanessa lingered longer than she ought to have, according to the amount that I paid her on my limited budget. I think I only paid her for three hours, but she stayed a half-hour that, according to my time-oriented maid of honor.

Vanessa came recommended by our wedding coordinator on Catalina Island. The pictures truly made us look good. I honestly don't know how I'll choose which ones to frame or include in the album. She has an easy way about her that puts you at ease. She's up for suggestions but is very creative and has a wonderful photographer eye. She mixes in artistic shots of the surroundings that add to the overall feeling of the day. You can tell she loves her work and she is very dependable. We had a great time with her and I highly recommend!
