Joseph is incredibly knowledgeable about the "science" of photography, and he took a lot of time (both on the phone and during an advance in-person meeting) to get to know us and understand what we wanted. He's also just a lovely, gentle person! We didn't want a ton of posed shots, and he delivered beautifully. We commented afterwards that we never even knew he was there, but he somehow managed to capture so many great moments, which was precisely what we wanted. By the time we got back from our honeymoon, he had already uploaded over 100 pics to his website, and had mailed us a CD of something over 500 images. He's extremely talented, and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend him!!!

My fiancé and I were so tired of the typical engagements in the park or gardens so Joe came up with the idea of doing them at the state fair. All of our friends and family were so impressed. Joe has done all the weddings in our family and I would never trust such a special day to anyone else. I hate having my picture taken, but with Joe I didn’t even realize it was happening! Joe Lacy was super responsive to my contacts. When I inititally contacted him, we talked a lot about his photography style, my style, pricing, and even suggestions about his website. I felt really comfortable working with him and he did a great job at the event. I didn't even notice him most of the time because he wasn't in our faces or making us always pose. We had a lot of candid shots and if there was a particular shot we wanted, he was very flexible. Also, he was very poised and calm the whole time. Sometimes, some of my family got a little frazzled about shots, but he was very calm and understanding. I was very thankful about that. He's great.
