  Doug was an absolutely amazing officiant. Everyone from both sides of our family commented to us about how much they enjoyed him and how pleasant he was. Not only was he extremely organized and professional, he was friendly, well-spoken and an overall great person to work with.
  
  Doug also provided our per-marital counseling which I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone before getting married. He brought up really great points and how to deal with them in marriage and how to make your marriage last forever. He worked with our schedules extremely well in order to make sessions work for both of us.
  
  Doug is an overall great pastor and his values and beliefs are definitely aligned with mine and my family's. I would recommend him to anyone and would be very happy to work with him again. Thank you again for everything, Doug!

  I have known Doug Burford since I was in high school. I know his wife and children, and I know that he has taken great care to lead his family in the love and fear of the Lord. We were honored to have him officiate our wedding. He has a wealth of experience as a pastor, counselor, mentor and leader. His service was perfectly organized and timed and thoughtfully composed. He was always attentive, easy to get a hold of, and always approachable. Many of my friends and relatives do not share our faith, but he made them feel welcomed, included, and loved. I do not know anyone who I would recommend more highly for this position. The person officiating your wedding should be someone you respect, admire, and hope to emulate. I am gratefully to have received Doug's blessing on our marriage. Any couple would be lucky to have the chance to receive Doug's wisdom and insight into their lives.

  Doug was truly a blessing for the entire year leading up to our wedding! We did premarital counseling with him as well. He helped us connect on a spiritual level and learn to live an "other centered" marriage. We talked about the languages of love and how to understand your partners love language and how if may differ from yours.
  During the ceremony he made things so comfortable! He made sure to not only talk to us about marriage, but to involve our guests as well. I can't tell you how many people asked where they could hear him on Sundays! He was elegant with his words and was able to make everyone feel as special as we felt!
  I cannot say enough about what a blessing he was to us on our special day!

  Highly recommend Doug as a relationship coach from the male stand point. The time my wife and myself spent with Doug leading up to our marriage helped us to build a solid chirst centric foundation for our future. He taught us tools and techniques that we still use three years into marriage.

  Pastor Doug provided an outstanding service for our wedding. Not only was his homily during the service wonderful, his demeanor leading up to the ceremony was such a blessing. Doug is attentive to details, gentle and sweet in his communication, and wise in his premarital counseling.   I met Doug when he was the pastor of the church I worked at. My husband and I developed a wonderful relationship with not only Doug, but his wife as well. Doug provided us with pre-wedding counseling and was the officiant at our wedding. He was understanding to our needs and requests and created a safe environment that allowed my husband and I to express ourselves during our counseling. Our wedding was a beautiful, memorable day and I believe the services that Doug provided for us was a large factor in why our wedding was so successful. Thank you Doug for giving us a beautiful start to the beginning of our marriage.

  Dr. Burford performed our wedding ceremony. He took the time to really get to know us and asked some important questions not only about how we saw the ceremony but also how we saw our future. We didn’t want to write our own vows, instead opting for the “I do” questions. He pointed out an important distinction for us. “I do” is in the moment whereas, “I will” is a forever statement. After his point, we really thought about his words and decided we agreed – “I will” means today, tomorrow, when I’m sick, when I’m tired, when we fight – I will is forever. We still remind each other that “I will”. We have Dr. Burford to thank for that.
  
  We also wanted to deviate a little from the “traditional” service and add music, scripture and prayers. He was so gracious about the changes we wanted to make, recognizing their importance to us and never second guessing us. He saw that we had a vision (and a reason) and helped us to incorporate these items do the ceremony flowed seamlessly.
  
  Perhaps the best part of having him perform our service though was the part that we really had no influence on – the sermon. He talked about the difference between a wedding and a marriage. He also reminded us (and all our guests) that a marriage is never 50/50. Each person is responsible for giving 100%. If you give 100% then you can make up for your partner having an “off” day. There are going to be times when life is hard and if each of you does your best to give 100% then you have the best chance to survive those difficult times. Guests of our wedding commented after the fact what a great sermon he gave. 9 years and 2 kids later, it’s a message that my husband and I remind each other of from time to time.
  
  Anyone planning a wedding knows there are things that are going to go wrong. Choosing Dr. Burford to perform your ceremony will NEVER be something you look back on as “wrong”. He was great and we are lucky for his words in that special moment.
