What services does a wedding florist provide?

A wedding florist provides a variety of services, some of which might not be obvious at first.

Consultation: Your wedding florist will meet with you to discuss your vision for your wedding—your venue, your wedding style, your desired color palette, and the types of flowers you like and dislike. Your florist will then create a proposal which will describe the arrangements he or she will create as well as the prices.
Samples: After you’ve signed a contract and shortly before your wedding, your florist may also provide sample arrangements to ensure that you’re on the same page about how your wedding-day flowers will look.
Flowers: A big part of your wedding flower budget will go to the actual purchasing of the flowers. It actually takes several hours for a florist to put a flower order together—and the flowers your florist will receive from his or her wholesaler or grower are far better quality than the ones you can buy at your local grocery store. They’re grown especially to be featured at events and are hand-selected for their quality.
Flower processing and storage: Once your flowers arrive to your florist, he or she will take several hours (often a whole day!) to process your flowers (taking thorns off of roses, counting the flowers, etc.) and storing them in a refrigerated space to ensure they look amazing on your wedding day.
Labor and production: Now, it’s time for your florist to create those beautiful arrangements! Each arrangement takes time to design (probably more than you would think!), so it’s quite a long process.
Delivery and set up: Your florist and his/her team will then bring your arrangements to your venue. A good amount of work needs to be done on premises to make sure that your ceremony and reception looks picture-perfect, from the altar to the reception table arrangements.
Cleanup: After your wedding, your florist and his/her team will go to your venue to remove all of the arrangements and vessels, and assist with cleanup.

We got married at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress on March 14, 2025, and choosing In Bloom Florist was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day. From the very beginning, working with their team was the easiest and most seamless process I could’ve imagined. They were incredibly responsive, patient with all of my questions and changes, and always ready with thoughtful suggestions and expert guidance. I created a Pinterest board to share the general vibe and key florals I was envisioning, and during our one-hour planning meeting, Madison went above and beyond. She helped me find the perfect balance between aesthetic, seasonality, and budget—and I left the meeting feeling completely confident. The results? Absolutely stunning. We had a floral arch that was beyond anything I had dreamed of (our guests are still talking about it!), four lush floor arrangements, ten tall and elegant centerpieces, a gorgeous cake wreath, and the most beautifully subtle bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages for the entire bridal party. Everything was cohesive, fresh, and picture-perfect. The In Bloom team arrived right on time, were a dream to work with during setup, and flawlessly repurposed ceremony florals into our reception without disrupting anything. It was truly magical. Many other florists either wanted me to scale down my vision or increase my budget. I NEVER had to do that with Linens & Flowers Design. It is clear they are true professionals in this field and evident why they have some of the highest ratings on every wedding website! Leading up to the wedding day, there was consistent and clear communication that made me feel at ease and completely confident in my florist! On the wedding day, they went absolutely over and beyond. They were the MOST stunning bouquets, arrangements, etc. I had ever seen. The team showed up early & stayed - ensuring everything was perfect! The day of my wedding, bad storms were rolling through the area, the team set up all the floral arrangements and made the decision to take them down prior to the ceremony so nothing got messed up. Before guests arrived, they placed all the arrangements back in their places & they looked beautiful and completely untouched by the storms. That was something I did not even know happened until after the wedding because they made it all so so so seamless and perfect. They even made a social media reel which is so fun to watch and relive the day. After the wedding, they have checked in with me ensuring everything was perfect.
