About
As a photographer, I strive to connect directly to my artistic vision as well as provide a peaceful environment for all my clients. My passion is to create and capture long lasting memories for everyone I work with. I guarantee honesty, artistic professional photographs, and to be a positive addition to any event. I trained at Hallmark Institute of Photography to become a certified professional photographer. Since my graduation I have photographed hundreds of weddings and in several different states! It is my goal to eventually photograph at least one wedding in every state in the US. Communication is key to any relationship and I believe you should have it with your photographer! I want my clients to have fun and be totally satisfied with their experience with Wendy Hickok Photography.

Great Photographer - Great Personality - FUN - That sums up this talented young wedding photographer. She is a rising star in the Annapolis area.
In my experience working with Wendy I have learned that not only is she a fabulous photographer, but that she goes beyond the call of duty to help others. She has a great sense of knowing where to be at just the right time to get the shot. I am totally confident in saying I know she can capture wedding stories beautifully. I also know she works great with people and I love seeing her in action making people smile. She brings a ton of creativity to her photography, which makes the process fun for everyone involved!

Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
I photograph your whole event in color, but after I change some images to black and white, apply special effects, and tweak the photos to my artistic sense.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
Light is what got me into this business. Being able to capture the event as it is in actuality is always a challenge, but it is always my goal.

Is your media preference film or digital?
I photograph all digital photographs. I started my photographic career with mostly black and white film. Digital is a very flexible media to work with and I love being able to share the images with you on the day of your event.

How many photographers do you work with?
I work primarily on my own, but when a second photographer or assistant is needed I bring one with me. If you have a very large event several photographers are available.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
When you book Wendy Hickok Photography I am your photographer! The reason you chose me is for my work so why would I send someone else?

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
I sometimes book myself for two weddings in one weekend, but two weddings in a day would not let me put my best foot forward for you. I dedicate my time to you and your day only. I guarantee my focus on only you and put one hundred percent into photographing it.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I am part of an extensive network of photographers that all work together in case of emergency, sickness, etc. In the case that I was unavailable I would find you a photographer to replace me for your event.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
I photograph with Canon equipment. I use a range of lenses 50 mm, 24-105 macro, 70-200 zoom lens, and a wide angle lens. These allow me to capture the feel of your event in many different ways. I also have on and off camera lighting to use throughout your event.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Of course I bring back up equipment! I don't leave my studio without two or three of everything.

Do you charge hourly or full day?
I charge a day rate for my services. Any additional hours added on to the day rate are charged hourly.

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
I am available for overtime. It is a 200 dollar charge over the first 10 hours of your event.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
I rarely stop photographing throughout your day and if I do it is to get a glass of water.

Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in my day rate unless the location is out of my region ( Maryland, Washington DC, Annapolis) Travel fees for destination are included in my destination wedding packages

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
The events are posted on line 30 days after your event.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?
I use a service called Pictage.com. It allows you and your guests to view and purchase prints on a secure site. You can also purchase books, canvas prints, greeting cards, and albums through Pictage.

How long can the client keep the proofs?
The proofs are available to you online for 6 months after the event and that can be extended for a longer amount of time.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
