When we began the wedding process, to be honest, we thought that wedding coordinators were for extravagant weddings and definitely out of our budget. We were going for an earthy, rustic feel for our day and knowing how organized we were, we knew a coordinator was not necessary. We were so wrong! After we had picked a date and a venue, which were huge projects on their own, we quickly realized how complex the whole planning process was. We both had full-time jobs and we were going to school full-time and simply did not have the time for all the research, meetings with vendors, and planning. We realized the last thing we wanted was to become stressed over details along the way, or (realizing there was no way to make this happen on our own) we also did not want to make our family and friends work for us. Our dream was to have a wedding that we could all enjoy, stress-free.
We met with Kami and instantly she calmed our nerves and we knew she was perfect for the job! She had so much experience and advice from working many weddings prior and she was so simply down-to-earth, we felt completely comfortable with her and we knew we could trust her. We booked her right away and from the start she exceeded our expectations. She was always willing to go over any questions we had. She answered our phone calls and emails promptly. At times I wondered how she was able to manage it all! She helped us stay on time and get things done early, without pushing, knowing that it would ease our stress later in the process.
Weeks before the wedding she took over all communication with our photographer, DJ, caterers and other vendors, relieving us of having to pass along timelines to everyone. She met with us multiple times so we really got to know each other, and she truly understood our vision for the wedding. If she came across something she thought we would like while shopping on her own time, she would text us a picture of it- just to let us know!
We knew she really cared about us and making our day perfect. And it was! Our guests ranted and raved about how wonderfully everything went. Our family and friends celebrated along with us, worry-free. Neither of us had to think about set-up of decorations, gathering people for photos or the ceremony, talking to the DJ or photographer to time the dances and bouquet toss and all those little moments, or clean up extra food and presents at the end of the night. Kami and her WedPortland crew took care of it all, behind the scenes.
We don’t have the slightest doubt that it was entirely thanks to Kami that our wedding was everything we dreamed of. It could not have happened without her.
