Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
What primary photographic style do you identify with?
Contemporary, Photojournalism, Portraiture
What do your packages include?
Albums, Custom Graphic Design, Digital Files, Flush Mount, High Resolution Images, Prints, Proof CD of All Images
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
I edit every delivered proof. Some are barely touched, while others might get transformed entirely. I like to say that I do whatever the image tells me to - until it looks right. I do black-and-white conversions, color toning or other subtle adjustments as necessary.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
I've pretty much seen it all by now. No venue too dark, no sun too bright.
Is your media preference film or digital?
I currently shoot digital only.
How many photographers do you work with?
I shoot myself and with a second photographer and/or assistant depending on the size of the event and/or venue.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
More than one in a day, no, I'd be wiped out. In a weekend, maybe.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
I bring as much as I think I'll need with backups for all major pieces of equipment.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Absolutely.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Both, either.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
Overtime hourly rate is the same as the booked hourly rate.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Few to none, except for meals.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel charges depend on destination and package selection. There are no additional travel charges for weddings in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach county.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
I like to put up an "edit" within one or two days. This is a small selection of images that I've chosen while making the first pass through the day's take. The rest of the proofs will be ready within 30-45 days after the wedding. I do my own post-processing and consider that to be part of my visual style.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Online gallery, Proof CD and printed hardcover proof book. [See Example Proof Book]
How long can the client keep the proofs?
Forever.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes. A license for unlimited personal use is included when images are purchased on disc ("digital negatives").
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes. Any commercial use is subject to approval by the client.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes. A Print CD is included with most packages, or by itself at an additional charge.
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes.
What kind of albums do you offer?
We custom design each album in a collage-style, printed in a high-quality leather-bound book. [See Sample Albums]
When will the client get the final album?
Albums are usually delivered two weeks after approval of the album proof.
