The Ebell of Los Angeles is an architectural masterpiece by renowned Architect Sumner Hunt and has been designated an Official American Treasure by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the White House Millennium Council as well as state and local designations as a historic landmark.

How many people does the space *comfortably* accommodate?
Our largest ballroom, The Dining Room, can accommodate 250 dining guests with room for dancing. The ornate Lounge can seat 170 for dinner and have room to dance.

How does your venue determine the cost of the space?
Because every wedding is a unique experience, we customize contracts based on the individual needs, wants, and desires of our clients, rather than offer a pre-determined wedding package.

Do you offer additional items for the ceremony?
A wedding ceremony at the Ebell includes guest chairs, microphone for the Officiant, and a ceremony table. Additional elements can be arranged.

Do you rent other items such as linens, tables, or flatware?
Catering at the Ebell provides flatware, tables, and glassware. Linens are by client selection and can be arranged by the Ebell or the Event Planner.

What is your staff-to-guest ratio?
Depending on the specifications of the event, the ratio is typically 10 or 12 guests to 1 server.

Do you require brides to use a specific list of vendors?
No; while we will suggest highly recommend vendors, every client may bring whomever they wish to hire on their event team provided that the event professional is insured and can provide a certificate of liability to the Ebell in advance of the event day.

Do you require the wedding party to use your musicians? If you do not require this, is there an additional fee to bring in one's own musicians?
Ebell clients are welcome to bring their own musicians. There is no additional fee to welcome your event professionals.

Do you have any special side rooms that can be rented out for the occasion?
Every event space comes with one "ready room" for the client's use as designated by their event access times.

Do you have cooking facilities?
The Ebell of Los Angeles has a full, catering kitchen and is proud to present Executive Chef Louis Pechan as our in-house caterer.

Do you provide your own catering? If yes, can a bride opt to use an outside caterer if she prefers?
While we offer delicious cuisine through our Executive Chef and Catering Team, The Ebell can be rented for outside catering purposes.

Do you have a liquor license?
Yes. All alcoholic beverage service must be maintained by the Ebell Catering Staff, even if an outside caterer is present for cuisine.

Can the bride provide her own alcohol if desired?
Wine and champagne may be provided by the client with corkage fee applied.

Because we are a historic venue, care must be taken in the decor elements. We provide the details and guidelines to your vendors in advance to avoid damages.

The Courtyard Garden may have music at "conversation level" during ceremony and cocktail hour. Any music or amplification outside the building or in the garden must be off by 9pm. Music inside the building has no restrictions.

If your site is in a public location, is the couple required to get any permits?
The Ebell is a private clubhouse. Generally, the only permit required is fire permit for candles. Should the event require tenting or street closure, additional permits from the city would be required.

Does your venue often accommodate more than one wedding at a time?
Sometimes. Due to the layout of the facility, we can welcome two parties via different entrances, separate restrooms, and separate parking lots, as available.

Do you offer security, if requested?
Security is required at the Ebell via the Liquor License. The security detail will be listed in the contract.

Describe your bathroom facilities:
Bathrooms are located on each side of the building. With a parlor aspect to the design, they are charming in addition to functional.

Describe your parking facilities:
The Ebell has two parking lots which are shared with the Wilshire Ebell Theatre. We request one lot for special events, aiming for the parking lot closest to our guests' entrance. Valet parking can be arranged for your guests as well.
