Are you a commercial studio or a home-based business?
I'm it. I shoot and I edit, and costs are best-controlled by my having my studio in my home.
What types, such as unedited footage or special effects, of videography do you offer?
Multiple cameras and microphones are used, although one camera is usually unattended. A second manned camera is an option. Special effects are introduced in editing; my desire to be unobtrusive means that I will stage very little. Unedited footage is available for a nominal charge.
Describe any special editing services you offer:
Photo/video clip montages and Love Story Videos that can introduce your video or be shown at your reception or rehearsal dinner. Rehearsal and rehearsal dinner activities and speeches. Other special events can also be covered, including mitzvahs, sporting events, reunions, etc. Captioning is available.
Do you have lighting equipment to accommodate a more dimly-lit event?
I routinely use a 20W on-camera light during the reception. No lights are used during the ceremony.
How many videographers do you work with?
I have several others who I call on for attended second cameras.
Does the client get to meet the videographers before the event?
I'm it. Please, let's meet so we both understand what is desired and what can be provided!
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
As with others, barring acts of God or war.
Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
One event per weekend. Prefer no more than two in a month.
Do you have a replacement videographer in case you become unavailable on the event day?
I have people I can contact.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Multiple cameras and audio recording equipment (I use mp3 recorders in multiple locations). Several tripods, a monopod, two microphone stands. Two on-camera lights and batteries.
Do you bring backup equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
I may sit down for 5 minutes two or three times...otherwise, I am on the go throughout!
Do you charge overtime?
Not on my unlimited package!
Do you give access to your raw footage?
An option for a fee.
Do you reserve the right to use the video in the future for promotions, contents, etc.?
Yes.
Is the client involved in the editing process? If so, how much input does the client have in editing?
One review when video is ready for encoding to DVD.
How long does it take for the client to get the final video?
Depends on time of year and number of prior jobs in the que. Usually takes about 14 weeks.
