Unique Ceremony Elements
Rose Ceremony - The giving and receiving of a white rose.
Unity Sand Ceremony - The blending of colored sand in a vase that can be kept as a wedding keepsake.

Family Unity Ceremony - The family unity ceremony is similar to a rose ceremony.  Instead of the groom
offering a white rose to the bride, each family member receives a rose and places it in a vase, to
represent the blending of two families becoming one.

Other types of ceremonies

Tips and Advice

Massachusetts Marriage License:

Both the Bride and Groom must apply for the license together. Remember that whereever you apply is where the marriage license will be filed and that is where you will need to go when you need to get a copy.
You will need your drivers license and birth certificate.
Fees  may vary, so check with your City or Town Clerk

There is a three day waiting period. The day that you apply does not count as part of the three days, but weekends and holiday do.

The license is good for 60 days.

Please Note:

Before the Wedding Ceremony begins the officiant needs the marriage license in hand.     No marriage license, no wedding.
