Lisa is that rare breed of professionalism that is also warm and friendly. She's endlessly creative and is able to think on her feet. No idea or situation we threw at her fazed her. She's done beautifully classy and elegant weddings. Our wedding was a Memorial Day picnic, a bit on the low-key and quirky side, but our photographs are polished and gorgeous and look absolutely timeless. The room we got married in had zero lighting, but you'd never know it looking at the photographs. She instantly saw and appreciated our vision. She and her style literally fit in anywhere.

She also did our engagement photos. We put one of them on the bridal shower cake and we were the hit of the bakery. I was getting hugs left and right. (One lady in the parking lot looked at the cake and asked me who "those gorgeous people" in the photograph were so, believe me, if you don't think you photograph well, Lisa makes you look like a celeb). We also used our engagement photos as save-the-dates. At my bridal shower, everyone kept asking me, "Who is taking all these photos???" Photography was the aspect of our wedding that everyone universally loved.

To me, three things make Lisa's photos unique: her use of color, her ability to capture real people in real moments, and her use of natural lighting. We wanted a really bright, happy, colorful wedding and Lisa really has a great eye for color and patterns. The colors really pop in her photography and I didn't even tell her what to shoot. I trusted her, and she naturally found all the bright spots :) Also, her journalistic approach is really unobtrusive. She took all these attractive pictures of us that aren't even posed! It was so exciting getting the photos back because they captured all these special moments when I didn't even know we were being photographed. In both our engagement and wedding shots, there's this great use of the sun and shadows and is really naturalistic and romantic that was completely unexpected, but they're some of my favorite shots.

And most importantly, on what was a really stressful day (and I was a complete basket case), photography was something I never worried about. I trusted Lisa and knew we were totally on the same page because it was a collaborative creative process that we really enjoyed.
