Green Wedding Tips for the Eco-Chic Bride-to-Be
There are so many great ways to plan a sustainable and stylish wedding. And like every other aspect of creating a beautiful wedding, all of the tiny details can become overwhelming. So, keep in mind that a green wedding is really about trying to do good-not being perfect. It’s about the values you believe in, the person you are, and who you want to become. Keep these things in mind when framing your thoughts on your wedding:
Appreciate and share what brings meaning into your life.
Believe in yourself and follow your dreams.
Try to use as much in-season, locally grown produce as possible. Organically grown is even better.
Use recycled or tree-free paper for all of your stationary needs.
Ask your baker to prepare an organic wedding cake-or to use as many organic products as possible when baking your cake.
Serve organic beverages at your reception. Organic wine, coffee and teas are available and better than ever.
Use music that is un-plugged, like a string quartet at your reception.
Think reduce, reuse, recycle when selecting your wedding gown, as well as the dresses for your bridesmaids.
Use historic venues, gardens, or natural surroundings for wedding and reception locations.
Consider your carbon footprint and your guest’s when planning transportation. Better yet, hold your wedding ceremony and reception at the same location so you and your guests can drive less.
Use locally grown or organic flowers for your bouquet, table arrangements, and all of your other floral needs.
