Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
I complete editing and photoshop on all pictures. Special effects including, but not limited to special photoshop effects, black and white photos, sepia, borders, etc... When providing Digital Negatives, the photos are ready to print. I do not provide unedited photos.
Is your media preference film or digital?
All equipment is digital. I use the latest Nikon cameras, lenses, and flash equipment. I do not carry studio equipment to events, but it can be arranged if requested.
How many photographers do you work with?
I have a close network of photographers who I know and trust, and have worked with many times in the past. If you choose to have more than one photographer cover your event, you can be sure they will be excellent!
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Of course! First and foremost, I am there for ALL my clients. The only time you will see another photographer there is if you choose to have a second photographer, or in the case of medical emergency!
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
I NEVER book more than one wedding a day. If you book me, no matter for how long, I am yours for that day. I have been known to stay well past the amount of time a client has booked me, I will NEVER be running off to another wedding!
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes. Again, I have a very close network of photographers who I am honored to also call friends. In case of emergency, we are always available to back each other up.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Typically, I bring 2 cameras, 4-5 lenses, and flash equipment. My style is very laid back and unobtrusive, and I do not travel with a lot of gear.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
I have 2 cameras on me, and also a third backup camera. Rest assured, the chances of everything failing are slim to none! :)
Do you charge hourly or full day?
My hourly rate is $250, typically with a 10 hour minimum. I have an a la carte product list, and we can discuss any other options during your consultation.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Just a few water breaks, usually while dinner is being served.
Do you charge for travel?
Yes, travel expenses will be included in your booking proposal.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Proofs are available between 4-8 weeks after the event. My contract states 90 days, but its usually sooner. I like to provide your photos to you as soon as possible, but also need sufficient time to edit and sort photos. I will not provide photos sooner and scrimp on quality.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Proofs are offered online, through my website as a standard. I also offer other options such as a proof CD or actual proof books if the client so chooses.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes, I retain the copyright to the photos, however, will release it for your personal use/re-printing if a DVD is included.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes, my contract states I reserve the right to use the photos on my website and for advertising. This is pretty standard in the photography industry and will be in the majority of contracts you sign with a photographer.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Digital files/negatives are available for purchase if you choose. I have found that many more clients prefer a beautiful custom designed album with their photos than a CD though.
Will images be available for viewing online?
Absolutely. I have a wonderful gallerywhere you can see your photos, purchase prints, enlargements, and albums, and also share them with your family and friends for their enjoyment as well!
What kind of albums do you offer?
I offer several albums. The standard sizes I use are 8 x 8, 10 x 10, and 12 x 12. Square albums are the most popular option, but other sizes are available upon request. We offer a leather cover option in various colors, as well as a photo cover option.
When will the client get the final album?
An album design is typically available 12 weeks after your wedding. After you have viewed and approved the final design, it typically takes 6-8 weeks to print and bind.
