About
Jane Maus's style is primarily photojournalistic, preserving a more accurate, energetic, and artistic record of your big day than traditional wedding photographers. Clients have raved about Jane's knack for truly capturing their wedding day and all the loved ones involved. Jane's laid back and friendly attitude makes it easy for brides, grooms, their family and their friends to have fun & let loose in front of the camera, and as one bride said, "(Jane was) so easy to work with! I hardly even noticed (she was) there most of the time!" While some posed photos will be taken at your event, by Jane Maus, the majority of the shots you will see will be taken candidly, which will allow you to truly enjoy your special day, rather than being directed by a photographer throughout it.

What a sweet lady! Jane is not only a wonderful photographer, but fun to work with. I have seen her catch some amazing shots and know that anything that comes from her is only going to add to the character and beauty of any occasion. I love working with her and can't wait for the next project.
Jane is very friendly, she is also very good with customers. I like her so much . Carolina
It was a true joy being the coordinator working along side with Jane as the photographer for Tori and Ryan's wedding. She not only stayed on top of all special happenings through out the ceremony and reception, but was a pleasure to work with and very upbeat. I highly recommend Jane as a wedding photographer. A True Professional! Any bride that has the opportunity to work with Jane Maus is going to be thrilled with her work. Jane handles 'all things photo' for the wedding, capturing the most precious moments and the best part is the bride will never know she was there...she's that good!
I met Jane at a wedding that we both worked at the Aldredge House in Dallas. Jane did a wonderful job of capturing the blissful feeling of the day. Her work is artistic and elegant. She has a very approachable attitude and will make all of your guests feel comfortable. I would be very happy to recommend Jane to my future Brides.

Tips and Advice
*Schedule a bridal portrait session if it’s at all possible for you. Your wedding day will be wonderful, glorious, and very, very busy. You will, quite likely, be seeing people you don’t often see, and you’ll want to catch up with them. You’ll want to cuddle & kiss & talk to your new spouse. In addition to this, you’ll have countless other things you’ll want to do. Doing your bridal portraits before the big day will not only free up extra time for you on your wedding day, it will also give you and me over 90 minutes more time to get creative and have fun and create some truly gorgeous portraits of you in your beautiful dress.
*If you want photos of you and/or attendees getting ready before the ceremony, you’ll want to make the space for these photos as pretty as possible. Try to find a space for preparation that has plenty of natural light. The ideal room will be large and have large, north-facing windows with lots of sunlight pouring in. It will be free of non-wedding-related clutter and mess. If a north-facing window is not an option, or if the view from the window is unattractive, put a gauzy white fabric or curtain over the window. This can be purchased cheaply anywhere and will help your photos a lot. No window at all? Then start thinking romance! Put up candles (as safely as possible—we don’t want to set your veil on fire!) or white Christmas lights.
*You may pay extra for me to hire an assistant for the day. OR you can ask a couple of friends if they might be willing to hold a reflector for me, occasionally.
*Please get in for a fitting of your dress during the week before your wedding--or as close as possible to the wedding day while still giving the tailor time to make any necessary changes!  This is especially important for you brides wearing strapless gowns, and your bridesmaids...it's so sad, when going through the candid shots after the big day, to see that in 90% of the shots the bride or one of her girls is tugging at her bust-line!
*If there's no time after the ceremony for posed shots of the bride & groom--and you're not too superstitious--consider doing posed photos together before the ceremony.  You can still do a dramatic "unveiling" of the bride--you can even invite your parents and/or close friends & family to witness the big event. We'll be able to photograph his big reaction to you in all your glory & then get some gorgeous shots of the two of you, in your happy moments before the big event really takes place!
*Be sure to do a trial run on your hair with the veil--I did not do this & regret it every time I look at my wedding photos!
