First let me say that I am a 37 year old bride. I live in NYC, I paid for my own destination wedding (in Las Vegas) and had a decent budget (limited by NYC standards). .
I struggled for months to decide if I wanted to even send invitations. I work in digital media and barely open my own mail. Aren't invitations outdated and an unnecessary cost? I had other things to spend money on- things I really cared about like food and entertainment, etc. But something about an evite did not sit well with me. Did i really want to invite people to the most important event in my life via email? My fiance convinced me to stop being cheap and lazy and just explore invitations. So I did and I started with the mass produced... Wedding paper Divas, etc. and I got samples... something about the quality, look and feel felt like I was a 20 year old bride in Kansas. No disrespect to the heartland, but it didnt feel like me. Then I went to custom retailers and was aghast at the prices. "No sir, I dont need this printed on a silk handkerchief." "No Madam, I dont care to spend 20+ per invitation and lose an entire of open bar because I am over budget."
I was out of ideas and almost out of time. That is when I found Matthew and a fine press. Matthew was a pleasure to work with. He was responsive, attentive, willing to customize and he did not break the bank. He took my informal language (It's about to go down , Dancing and Debauchery expected and encouraged) and made it look like art. My invitations felt like me. They were cosmopolitan, inappropriate but formal, and sophisticated.
I sent out our invitations and immediately we received texts, phone calls, and even facebook posts about how "dope", "cool", "awesome" they were. A few of my graphic designer friends asked me what the font was and about the card stock. These invites set the tone for the most amazing event.

I cannot say enough good things about Matthew at A Fine Press. He understands the magic of receiving a beautiful piece of art in the mail that begins to set the mood for your wedding! Getting your guests excited about your big day starts with the invite :) You can't ask for a more flexible or innovative stationer... he will listen to your ideas and marry them all together to create the most beautiful suite you could imagine that you would never find at the cut and copy invite companies. If you are waivering on whether to do custom or not, I say go for it because you certainly won't regret it!

When it came to getting exactly what we wanted, Matthew did just that. My husband and I were beyond thrilled when we received the final product. So many of my guests raved over the invitations saying how unique they were. I would definitely recommend him to any future bride!
