Hello! First let me congratulate you on your engagement and the excitement that comes along with planning your wedding. If there is anything I can help with along the way, please let me know.
In the documents I have sent you, there is a plethora of information geared toward helping you plan your musical entertainment for the evening. Within this particular document, you will find a FAQ list, a contract, and a list of questions for you to answer if you decide to hire me as your DJ.
Additionally, there is an excel document for your reference. This document is NOT all inclusive of the music I have, but it provides, in some detail, the types of songs that I have played during wedding receptions. If there is a song you would like to hear/request that is not in this list, please contact me to find if I do or do not have it.
Here are some FAQs. If you have additional questions, do not hesitate to contact me.
Do you require a deposit and contract? As of January 1, 2007, any reception-inquiries I have booked post this date will require a refundable deposit of $75 and a contract.
Should we setup a meeting? This is totally up to you. If you would like to meet, ask questions, go over documentation and get to know my personality, a meeting is perfectly fine with me. I do not require us to meet though. Additionally if you would like to see me in action, I could arrange this with another wedding I am DJing.
What type of equipment you have? Are there extra charges? I own all of the equipment I use. I have your standard DJ setup with two speakers, tripods, dual-deck CD player, powered amplifier and mixer, DJ lights [optional], wireless microphone and of course, music. I have imported 90% of my music into a computer that I use primarily for the DJing. I also bring my CDs as backup just in case. There are no extra charges for items such as lights or a wireless microphone.
What do you wear? I wear a suit, not a tuxedo, during your reception. I try to look as professional as I can, but not overboard.
What if you don’t have a song? Typically, if I do not have a song you would like to hear, I will try to download if off of Itunes. If neither Itunes nor a local store has the song, but you do, you are more than welcome to bring it to the reception on CD. If none of these options are possible, we will have to revisit the song request.
How long have you been doing this? I have actually been DJing since I was 13 years old. During the first 9 years or so, I was solely DJing grade school and high school dances, private parties and university events. Only within the past 5 years have a switched completely over to weddings. My approach to weddings is a laidback style in which the music is the entertainment, not me. Therefore, I do not bring props to the wedding. Rather, I am your MC/facilitator for the night to make sure it runs smoothly and play the right music to get people on the dance floor. I have a list of references of weddings I have DJed in the past that you can contact for further follow-up. Just let me know if you would like this list.
