Frequently Asked Questions for Beauty & Health
What beauty services do you offer?
Hair, Makeup

Do you offer trials and consultations?
Yes

Can you service a large group or bridal party?
Yes

Do you charge for trials?
Yes, I charge $95(up to 2 hours) for your trial style if you require me to be mobile. If you come to my homebased salon.(located in NW Calgary) I will have a reduced price of $75(up to 2 hours). Prices are effective until Dec. 31, 2009

Do you travel to the client on the day of the event? If yes, is there a fee?
The sole purpose of my business is to go to the location you need me to be at so that you are in the comfort of your own surroundings! This makes it less stressful (instead of running out to a salon). You and your bridal party can be together getting your hair and makeup done and then be able to get dressed, while others are still getting finished! Takes the travel time out of your day. I will go anywhere within the city limits of Calgary for free. Outside the city limits there is a fee per km.

How many customers can you serve at one time if the bride were to book her entire bridal party? Are there discounts for doing so?
6 or more, I would need enough notice to have my stylist there to help.

How far in advance should clients book your services?
You should book your hair at least 3-6 months prior to your wedding date. Don't wait too long! I have 3 weddings already booked for 2010!

What is your cancellation policy?
I do require a non refundable $100 down payment to book the day you need. This deposit will then be deducted off of the total cost. Also, your final payment is due 15 days prior to the wedding date. After that date, your balance is non- refundable.

Additional Questions and Answers
How shall I prepare myself and the bridesmaids for the day of the wedding?
I strongly suggest that you have your hair completely dry the day of the wedding for anyone needing a long hairstyle. If your hair is in anyway damp, your style may be limp and not last.  (For short hair styles I will be blowdrying it anyway). Also, it is good to have a button up shirt so that you don't ruin your hair!

Do you have a minimum fee?
Yes, my minimum fee is $300.  That would be the bride plus at least 2 other people requiring up dos.

What if I want a certain hair style but I don't have enough hair?
I do sell hair extensions!  There are 10 pieces that clip in. They are real hair that  comes in 14" or 18" hair lengths.  They can be cut, colored and curled to suit your needs.  There are many colors to choose from!  I have a swatch that I can use to match the perfect extension for you.  I do carry some in stock, however if I don't have particular color I can easily order it for you, I just need at least 50% of the cost.

Marcy Panei, from Bella Bridal Hair, in Calgary has sent us this great, real life wedding anecdote and her resulting advice for all of you:

Avoiding Hair Disaster!

Having a trial up do run is one of the best investments you can make in all of your wedding planning! But more importantly doing the trial run well in advance to the wedding day is most important as you may not like what is done, and if you have the trial a week before your wedding and you aren't happy?!?!?..... YIKES!

For example, one monday afternoon, I get a phone call, a bride to be explains to me that I was recommended to her by the make up artist and that she has no stylist for her wedding day, that something happened and she no longer has a stylist and.....she is getting married on FRIDAY! (yes, in 4 days!) I immediately perk up my ears to this, "WHAT?! what happened??" I asked. "I went for my trial up do and it was a disaster!" she said.

She asked if I was available on Friday to do hair at the hotel they were staying at. I immediately said," you know what, I will make this happen, but you MUST come tonight to meet and have a trial!"

Thank goodness it worked out for her. She loved her hair and felt like a princess! It is rare that a stylist has time that soon to get things done! I work part time and fortunately for her I have mondays and fridays off! (If it were the Saturday, I wouldn't have been able to do it as I am usually booked with regular clients) I just needed my mom to come and babysit that day and away I went! It is important to me that a bride feels her best for her wedding day!

The make up artist that recommended me to her, I have only met once the morning of a brides wedding . She saw that I did great work and thought of me! It is all about networking! Don't hesitate to ask your stylist, make up artist even photographer for recommendations! They will always know someone! (thank you Elizabeth of Aria Studios for recommending me! I will surely do the same!)
