Your least favorite part of wedding planning

If you could outsource one aspect of wedding planning, which task would you ditch? Managing your budget? Answering questions from relatives? Setting up your wedding website? Standing for what feels like hours at your fittings? What is your last favorite part of wedding planning?

Oh okay, I can see how that can get frustrating. Sorry to hear that! But I'm glad it all worked out and glad you got to vent 😉🙂

Honestly our guest list haha. Everything else has been going smooth so far but we'll see in January how I'm feeling since that's when our "true" wedding planning will start!

I dread having anything to do with the hotels - blocks, reservations, etc. Because our wedding is technically "destination" for everyone except FH and I, this is a HUGE task that my mom (thankfully) has volunteered to help out with.

None of it has been fun for me except the dress shopping. I just am too indecisive and my family and friends have too many opinions

Answering the same questions from the same people repeatedly.

Explaining what's the "norm" for weddings today to older generations.

Writing our wedding ceremony from start to finish from scratch.

    FH's family drama.

I love planning and there isn't much that I don't enjoy. Being about 8 months out, I feel like I'm at a weird point where everything is booked and the vendors are good to go, but now it's figuring out the more nitty gritty detailed stuff like the day's timeline, table decorations, what desserts for the dessert table and dinnerware.

    Signing the checks! Ha.

Honestly that's it. I have had a BLAST planning my wedding. It's been a nice escape from daily life for the last year and I'm a little sad it's coming to an end. Am I weird? Maybe.

But yeah, signing the checks or clicking "submit" on those balance payments (just paid the DJ today) is a little bit of a kick in the gut! Other than that, maybe trying to coordinate times/places/appointments with bridesmaids living in different cities, but thankfully social media has helped with that!

I would cut out dealing with EVERYONE’s opinions and sense of entitlement towards MY wedding. I don’t know what it is but weddings seem to bring out the worst in people and make them think they are entitled to so much of someone else’s day. That has been my biggest struggle is dealing with family who want their way and dealing with randos who don’t even belong their but pretend to be your friend just so they can get a ticket to a free party. No sir

I'm tired of second guessing myself on my wedding plans. From our theme, to our favors, to our ceremony, to our secret surprise at the end. I'm just ready for our wedding to be here so I can see it all come together.

Everything has gone well for us so far, but wrangling RSVPs has been the most difficult part.

I almost fainted at my fitting because I was unknowingly was locking my legs. Lol. I also had a mean seamstress. Other than that, tracking everyone down for the RSVP and having people change their answer last minute has me really annoyed. Lol

People who didn't RSVP and fittings. As a plus sized girl my gown had to be completely reconstructed in the bodice and we had to drive two hours both ways to get to the best seamstress in the region to ensure I looked semi-decent. She did a fantastic job and it turned out amazing but my goodness the process was ridiculously stressful. For the RSVPs, you almost feel like you are intrusive or being annoying for following up with them but hi hello we are spending $200 a plate for you so can you just send the already stamped envelope in the mail? For the most part people were good about replying but we had a few outliers that we needed to call and then there was one of my groom's really good friends who literally posted a comment on my IG that he was sorry he couldn't come the DAY OF the wedding yet he was supposed to be coming from across the country and had asked us to include his sister. I'm sorry but if you were to have booked a flight in order to come wouldn't you know at least a week before? Luckily my venue was able to nix their seats within like ten minutes of a final count so we didn't lose money but still...

Other people stressing us out with their drama and being dependent on other people for something that means so much to us. It got so bad we changed alot of things for our wedding to eliminate those stresses and its been smooth sailing ever since.

Having to follow up with relatives and friends if they're coming or not. OMG some of the excuses and rude responses I received! Totally wish I had put that on a planner or one of my bridesmaids for my own sanity--I don't look at some of my relatives the same way anymore.

Planning out florals. I'm excited to plan out décor and centerpieces and everything but flower arrangements just don't interest me! I would just want to show a florist the color scheme, venue and theme and let them plan everything out within budget.

Also following up with venues and people that haven't RSVP'd yet.
