Young brides!

Any other young brides in their early 20's? I know a lot of people recommend not getting married until at least 25, but after 2.5 years of dating and 1 year of living together (plus both being in our careers/done with school), it's the right time for us!

I'm 20 now. At the time of the wedding FH will be 23 and I'll be 21, but we'll both have bachelor's degrees and be getting ready to move across the country for graduate school

I have been with FH for 5 years, we didn't really factor in age. We just did it when we felt it was right. We've taken things kinda slow for the most part and just moved in together this last year, and it just seemed like the right thing to do. When we get married, I will be 23 and FH will be 27.

As a young bride, these types of threads annoy me.

I tend to believe if you're truly ready for something, you don't seek validation (actively or passively) from anyone about it. You just go about your business and do it.

There's no need to broadcast being an exception to statistics or draw attention to yourself over it if you're confident that you've made the right decision.

I was 21 the first time I got married, it lasted almost 10 years before I got tired of his controlling, abuse, and adultery. Only you and your partner know if it's the right time for you.

@annuhlee, re:Beatrice, yes. During her relationship and through the demise, she was very active. She has been encouraged to stay with the community as she has developed relationships with other members and provides effective advice.

@annuhlee, no worries. Since I've been here for approximately 947 years so I figured I could give some insight.

@bethyonce thank you! @annuhlee Yes, I was asked to stay due to the advice I provide and my level of snark. Besides, who else would post the weekly etiquette reminder.

I will be 25 the day we get married and he will be 29. We have been together for 5.5 years. The timing is right and I really can't see myself with anyone else!

So tired of people telling me just because I am young I am not ready for big life commitments and that I cannot do something. Huge personal pet peeve. I will be 24 when we get married and honestly don't see the problem with getting married if you are ready for it. While some young 20s like going out and partying and apartment hopping, I like actually having a graduate degree and a stable job and home. Age doesn't always dictate how mature you are nor how in love you are so in the end you do you! Smiley smile
