Man did I prove him wrong! or right? lol we have a running joke now that he still thinks I'm weird, but he says I'm his kind of weird so it's ok.

If you asked me a year ago I couldn't imagine that in my senior year of college I would be planning my wedding, I like to think of it as I was lucky to find the perfect one so early in my life because that just means I get to spend more time with him

What's your best advice to other younger brides? Wait lol. If DH wasn't in the military we probably would be waiting until I turn 25 but the Marines don't recognize fiances so *shrugs* here we are. I'd suggest living your own life without FH before deciding to tie your life to another person indefinitely.

What's your best advice to other younger brides? There is no rush, seriously. Make sure that you are where you want to be in life when you get married. If you two are meant to be together, you will, no matter if you marry within a year or so after dating, or after 8 years of dating like us. I was a junior in high school when we started dating. I then went off to college and law school. We knew we wanted to be together and knew we would eventually get married. We just wanted to be smart about all of it and make sure life was stable before we decided to take the leap to marriage. We don't regret waiting for a minute and are extremely happy with where we are in life.

I was 16 and he was 17 when we met. I was 17 and he was 18 when we started dating. I was 23 and he was 24 when we got engaged. We will both be 25 when we get married next month. My advice for young brides is to take it slow, there are times when you have to be very serious in your relationship but never forget to have fun. My FH and I dated 6yrs before we got engaged and even know when things get stressful with the all the planning, we make time for each other to go out and have sum fun. It's ok to be a kid once in a while!

Highschool sweethearts! Starting dating when I was 17 he was 16. Engaged at 19 and 18. Getting married in 18 days, just after my 24th bday, he is 23. We have lived together for 5 years, I am glad we waited to get married. We both know exactly what to expect because we have already been doing it for so long. Also, we both have good jobs now and are able to pay for a beautiful wedding with no help!

I agree with other posts, make sure you get to know each other before you tie the knot. My sister rushed into a marriage at 19 to her "highschool sweetheart" and now at 26 she is divorced. I'm not saying it never works, I'm just saying give yourselves time to mature.

What's your best advice to other younger brides? I agree with all the other advice! My main thing is - trust and believe in yourself before you commit to life with someone else. If you don't value yourself, your insecurity will be an obstacle and hurt the relationship. I have a wonderful fiance who was ready to get married when we were 22/23, but I didn't know how to be happy with myself then.

It took me some time, and ups and downs in life to gain self-confidence. Age doesn't really matter if you truly value yourself and have confidence in who you are. Your relationship and life will be much stronger with your partner then. If YOU see yourself as an equal, then your partnership will be equal.

My advice is to have trust.... trust is huge.. If you can't enjoy a night out without eachother, worry free.... then you might want to rethink the whole marrige idea! Also continue to be an individual once in a while... you are a team, but its okay to make a play on your own here and there. (meaning) Have your own beliefs, and ideas, you and your FH may not always agree on certain things, but its good to have calm arguements on eachothers stances! its good to have a disagrement!

Obviously, my groom-to-be taught me that age and maturity are extremely different things, and while I cringe when I think that I'm going to be 31 and he's going to be 24 on our wedding day, I have no doubts that he can provide for our household or be a great Dad in a couple of years. I've dated guys that were 5 years older than him, and 10 years less mature. I wasn't ready to get married at 24, but he definitely is.

We met at 21 and 23, got engaged on my 24th Birthday and got married a year later at 24 and 26. I turned 25 the day after. I don’t really consider myself a “young bride”, just younger than the average age but so you. People get marries young and have lasting marriages. Just make sure you are ready and feel it is right. Follow your gut. research and read about marriage. there are a lot of articles on married life and preparation for it. Take advantage.
