Because I Said So
Super September 2010

Yay or nay on the bathroom box, for guests?

I've been to a ton of weddings and at 3 or 4, I've seen the decorative supply box in the ladies' room with lotion, mints, hair ties, etc. It's a nice touch but I don't know whether to do it at my own wedding, should I bother? I could grab everything from the dollar store for about $15, that's not...

I could grab everything from the dollar store for about $15, that's not going to break the bank or anything. I guess I answered my own question! I'd just like to know how many brides are providing this and how many as guests think it's cool or not.

I like that little note. I am pretty sure I'm doing it. If anything I will be the one that ends up needing those items!

We're doing them! I bought a bunch of stuff from the travel bins at target and walmart; they're the perfect size for short-term use.

Kat, you could get a really nice small wooden box with a lhinged top and an elegant slide closure and set up a table beside them with a small note saying, Please Feel Free To Use If Needed.

That way the stuff will be in the box so it won't get blown around or out inplain view.

I am doing a basket for our guests, but, I figured in case I need it it's there. I'm don't want to worry about having to carry stuff that I could just as well use to. I also did the little poem and put it in a pretty frame. I think the guests may not look for it until something happens or notice there is something there they would like to use.

The venue we're using only does 1 event at a time, we have the whole place so there aren't any other event guests using our bathrooms. and the restrooms are unisex, no separate men's rooms so the guys can raid the mints and lotion too if they want!

99% of the weddings that I have been to have these. I will also have a basket for both the men's and lady's room.

For the men we will have spray deoderant, gum, mints, bandaids, neosporen, somach meds (tums, peto, etc.), asprin, ibeprophen, condoms (hehe), hair spray, hand lotion, tide stick and some men's body spray.

The girls we will have hair ties, tummy meds, asprin/ibeprophen, pads, tampons, hair pins, safty pins, tide stick, small sewing kit, gum, mints, women's body spray, deoderant, hairspray, hand lotion, band aids, neosporan and feminine wipes.

We will put a note on them similar to the one that Krystal and Heavensent posted as I was a wedding this past April and one of the guest's boyfriends thought the stuff was there for whoever got to it first and started taking the entire package of stuff and putting it in his pocket for later or to take home. So to avoid that we will have the poems! lol

LOVE this list!!! I was going to do baskets already but it felt incomplete. This is pretty complete - the only thing I'd add is hand sanitizer and mouthwash.
