WW guest list : Guests with the same name?

Rebecca, on November 30, 2015 at 9:42 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

There are so many Chris' in my FH family! Both male and female, several with the same last name.

So my question: When your guests are searching for themselves to RSVP on your WW website, how do they select themselves? Do they see the "household name" as well?

I'm finding it awkward to separate households as well.

If a guest is the only one with a last name, I title it that. Ex: Purdy (for Mr. & Mrs. Purdy)

But if a guest shares a last name with several people (very common in my guest list) I'm trying to include the couple's name. Ex: Jennifer and David Smith.

So to reiterate: how do you deal with guests with the exact same name? Can guests see the household title?

Add to this that most of my guests are from Quebec, where it is actually against the law to take your partner's last name (Seriously. What the hell?), I have dozens of married couples with two last names so I'm including both in the "household". Ex: Chris Smith and Lisa Frenchypants . This process is obnoxious!

I searched the topic, but the only thing I found was from 2011, and not helpful.

If they search their name, their household will show up, so you should be fine.

Not just the guest list! FH, his dad, AND his son are all Robert Smith (not really their last name). FH goes by Rob, but during the ceremony he'll be referred to as Robert. That is going to be so weird with his son, who goes by Robert, standing right next to him! I'm having to use middle initials and Sr/Jr.

They can search their name and their household name will also appear...

Here is what FH's and my RSVP would look like. I put us down as Mr. and Mrs. because that day my "place card" will have my new married name.

ETA: if you input your addresses (with the WW tool), then the location where they live will also pop up with their name.

Personally, I would look and see if they all have the same middle names as well. If not, then I would add middle names and address their invitations with their middle names as well. I told everyone to enter their name as it appeared on their invitation to avoid confusion because I used full names and many only ever go by nicknames. I would probably do the location thing as well just to be very clear.

I had people with the same name but different middle names so I just put their middle initial.
