Writing Your Vows

We have both been working on ours...mine I've known in part since I was a little girl...from the book of Ruth starts with "Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee , for whither thou goest I will go and where you lodge I will lodge....etc etc etc
Not traditional, but probably used many times over.
I don't know , I think you should just speak from the heart, about how you met and how he makes you feel. I don't think there is any right or wrong.
Anytime I've seen vows spoken, it's not necessarily the words that I remember...it is the emotion behind them❤
I'm sure the web has alot of useful information.

I think the way you and your FH are approaching this, with your deal, is a great idea! That way you're not under huge pressure to get these wrote and have a backup plan encase it doesn't happen.

We did also make a deal that they aren’t going to be purposefully humorous, if that makes sense. I was thinking of that Friends episode where Chandler and Monica write their own vows and the girls are all “awww”ing and tearing up of Monica’s and the guys are all laughing at Chandler’s. I don’t want that 😂

It's definitely better you both agreed on what the tone of them will be!!

I also like the idea of being surprised by what is said in the vows, so as hard as it would be, I wouldn't take a peek!

View Quoted Comment Thank you! I have no idea how he’s doing or if he’s even started. His truck broke down the day we were moving him into a new apartment and we just fixed it last night at midnight (he cracked a joke that I was finally learning to fix cars lol) but we have time!

We're incorporating the traditional vows during the rings ceremony but will be saying our own after the rings.
