WR: Invitation For Day After Celebration

Andrene, on February 4, 2011 at 10:50 AM

We’re planning on having a party the day after the wedding at a local pub. I was hoping to convey this info via our wedding website but the guests don’t seem to be visiting. So, I’m thinking I may need to send out a paper invite. Any ideas on something relatively inexpensive that I could do?

search beer to pull up all image options.

click change color to change the color of the background to your wedding colors

click add text to add your name... change the font color and style to whatever you like

Let me know if you need any other help.

Andrene....If you mail this invite separate of the Vera invites, there will be no clash. If anything, you can make it more of a "fun" invite, as opposed to a more formal invite. Go to the stationary store, and buy a monogramed note card, or a blank all purpose card. Staples has some lovely scalloped edged cardstock and matching envelopes. Print out the invite on the card from your PC or take them to Kinkos to be printed. Have the guests RSVP be by telephone if they are here, or via your FMIL if they are in Ireland. If it is a separate mailing, it will not clash with your other simply elegant Vera invites.

Your other option is to do the same printing options with the card, but include it in your welcome bags. This approach will also not conflict with your Vera.

Also...perhaps you can find a notecard with a "claddagh" on it, and use those for the invites.

I would just announce it at the reception. It's what we did for our next day brunch.

Here is a link for a lovely "claddagh" card where you can put your new name or his last name on it. While it is not your Vera, it is simplistically elegant, but relays a different theme:

    Hope this helps.

This site also has a claddagh return addie label and a celtic knot note card. They also have the claddagh cards.

Heck, I like these better: ivory and gold claddagh. It keeps with your ivory and gold theme.

You could have something designed by one of the vendors that posts here often. I tihnk her name is Carol... something about "taking it personal"... not sure lol . She does the cartoon like STD things. She could do something more casual, and send you the digital file, and then you can have it printed by Vistaprint (you can upload custom designs to their blank line of products) or take it to Staples or OfficeMax and have it printed on postcards.

    Just a thought Smiley smile

I do like the ivory card stock and claddagh design.

@Andrene....I figured you would. ; ) I love them and would consider pointing my Cate in that direction to use them in some fashion for her big day(even as a thank you, or whatever). While she is also of Italian descent on my side, and is marrying a man of Italian descent, she is also second generation Irish on her father's side. It is a nice nod to her Irish roots, after a wedding that will most likely be very Italian centered. lolol

@STB Mrs. Allen: That is a great idea. Would need to reasearch how involved that would be though as I want this process at least to be easy and stress free.
